My mom is in health care, my dad takes daily insuline. She says he uses syringes app. 3-4 times, without extra bleach. He doesn't even use alcohol to disinfect, and she is not worried a bit.
So that's what I've been doing, too. I don't disinfect the syringes/ needles, just keep the cap on in between. I use alcohol swabs to disinfect the skin and the top of the vial, then use syringes 2-3 times. Since I have extra-thin insulin needles, 3 times seems to be the imit before they either bend or become slightly blunt. P.S. Oh, you were talking about the mixing syringe.... I would just swab it with acohol, then use it again. |

I can't get mixing vials over here - but my 2000ui vials have enough space for 3.5ml of sterile water (n bac water in my part of the world, either), so I just mix in the hcg vial and adjust the dose as needed. Those are sterile, at least from the inside - and I get t remix every 12-15 days. |

Just make sure you know exactly how much sterile water you fit in the hcg vial? You probably gotta re-calculate the amount to inject. I am on 0.27 for 150ui dose now... it depends how much you will fit in there.
Yes, having more volume makes dosing easier. But I really have no choice without sterile mixing vials every 10-15 days... so the hcg vials work well for me. |
