Default Marijuana and HCG
I'm a casual smoker, usually on the weekend for relaxation purposes and I was wondering if anyone else smoked while on HCG since the chemical portion of Marijuana THC is stored in your fat cells I was wondering if you saw any negative or positive side effects? I don't have any problems stopping while dieting, but I was just wondering. I am going to miss my beer though Going to say goodbye to my nice Boulevard Wheats this weekend in a grand fashion

I don't smoke anymore (just no desire to) but what about the munchies? Even with my adderall (which makes you very not hungry) marijuana still made me eat like crazy. With the diet being so strict I don't think you'd even be able to have a little snack without seeing the effects on the scale. That alone would make me stop.

Yeah I was wondering about the munchies, I don't really get them that often so I hope I'm good.

part of the strict diet is getting all of the junk out of your body. Why would you want to add junk back into it?

This post literally made me LOL.. No judgement from me, I smoked my fair share of pot before marrying my husband and doing the military thing. I just thought it was funny. I'd be a bit worried about the laziness that usually accompanies smoking tho. And maybe the munchies, I never got the munchies too bad because the cotton mouth killed my appetite lol. Good luck

Because it's not really junk, smoking Marijuana is in no way related to putting on weight unlike let's say alcohol. No calories in bud.

Jen, I want to be prepared for every scenario so I know what I am getting myself in to. Thanks for not judging!

I have smoked while on hcg. I've noticed no difference in my weight loss. It makes cravings worse though.
What about saving your second fruit of the day for when you have the munchies?

I won't lie I am slightly nervous about the munchies but I'd like to believe I have the tools and the willpower to not munch out.

I smoke regularly now because it solves so many health issues for me - I have chronic nausea, chronic insomnia (2-4 hrs to fall asleep on average regardless of level of mental exhaustion), chronic debilitating back and neck pain which was made worse by a car accident.

I have seen no difference in my losses. I'm a rogue user, so some days I eat better and others I eat worse, but when I eat properly, I still average 1 lb per day lost even while smoking. I also have never been one to have problems with munchies, but that could be because I've never been much of a fan of food consumption in the first place.

I suppose everyone is different. You could try smoking and then see if the cravings are terrible or not. If they are, you need to decide how to address them - ignore or caved. If you cave, it's wiser to cave with veggies and protein obviously, and there are plenty of hcg users who have increased their protein or veggie consumption a bit on some days and haven't noticed adverse effects with the scale. But I thank god for pot. Because without it, my only options would be prescription sleeping pills and antidepressants, extremely high doses of prescription painkillers, and some serious anti nausea medications, so I'm not one to judge at all.

Just don't eat it in brownie form! I agree, it's not like junk food or junk medicine. I've known too many people with chronic illness who it has helped. I also used to volunteer for hospice, and know it has helped with nausea and pain. However, it is a motivation killer, and this diet takes a lot of motivation to keep with it so that would be the main reason I would drop it.

You know, I just smoked a few days ago because I was just flat out of motivation. I figured I'd risk the munchies. I just told myself before I smoked that I would promise to clean up and listen to good music. Oh! and I laid out some strawberries pre-cut so I wouldn't jump into the cabinet for those Oreos I've been eyeing for this entire week.

I felt great after I smoked. You might get "munchies" a bit, but it's not that same hunger feeling that's uncomfortable or nagging. I got the house cleaned, and I listened to some Dave Matthews! I call it a win. I lost 3lbs that day too.

Good luck!

Decide beforehand each time what you are allowed to eat during, so there are no last minute, munchie-induced decisions. I only did after I was done with all my allowed food for the day, so all I was allowed to have was tea or water - I felt I was less likely to have control if I started eating anything. Plus I'd just head out for a nice long walk right away, and munchies were never a problem, and those evenings always resulted in a good loss the next day (I think the walk helped...)

Love it! Got the house cleaned and listened to some Dave! Stellar! I was wondering about smoking while on HCG. Haven't tried it for fear of gaining. I may just give it a go!

The only thing I can't stress enough is to pre-make a snack beforehand. Not only will the snack taste good, but it'll feel like you get to eat it for hours!

I smoked everyday of my first round. There were no side effects at all- not even the munchies! it was a fun experiment! remember that everyone is different though.

I am on my second round now- I quit smoking a few months before this round, for personal reasons, so I have not used during this round-

I am the exact same way, smoking gives me great motivation. I've decided after all the posts that I won't give it up during the diet, who knows it may just provide the mental elevation I need to make it through the hard days. Thanks for the advice!

I'm sitting here giggling to myself because I knew the smokers would come out of the wood work once the question was asked. There's always at least one of us in the crowd I've found. Thanks for all the advice everyone! I wish you luck in your journeys!

Great question Miss Strawberry, I read on some other forums that certain people have even noticed an increase in their losses - possibly due to the additional metabolic effect of the THC. Certainly everyones body works a little bit differently but I am SURELY smoking everyday - diet or not. I am on VLCD #2 after a 3 day load and I noticed a big difference in how strong I felt after smoking (made me feel much better). Obviously the munchies should not be a problem if you are on a DIET and don't get too crispy. ENJOY!
