Default Ugh I just want junk!
I'm on vlcd 28. Doing well, 18.5lbs lost, but the last few days I can't help but think of my favorite Mexican restaurant and a giant margarita or two. Or on a warm evening going with my family to get ice cream. I actually get sad because we haven't gone out to eat for almost a month and we always have fun on our occasional nights out on the town. Now my family planned a big party for cinco de mayo and I can't enjoy the tasty foods that will be out. I just want a day to go out and splurge on awesome food so bad. I need help getting out of my funk.

Your dose may need adjusting. I got cravings about 10 days before the end that turned into hunger and adjusting the dose was the answer.

I'd make sure I had P2 foods at the party

This part of the diet won't last forever! You can do it. So you miss these things now, but what is this time compared to a skinnier and healthier you? You can do it and you will be so proud of yourself afterwards!!!

You are doing amazing!! Think of what you've gone through to loose the 18.5lbs you've lost, think of where your losses will be when your round is over!! Remember, that if you give in you would be setting yourself up for disaster and could gain all you've lost plus some! You don't want that, you've come too far!! I am so proud of you for what you've done! Remember too, it's a life style change and use this opportunity to have fun without food being the center of fun. Teach yourself a new coping mechanism and even though it may suck going through it, once your done, I mean done, done and you are strictly maintaining your weight, you will not think twice and wish you would have had the food in 2012 cinco de mayo. It really won't matter in the long haul. Sip on some seltzer water with lemon twist so you don't feel "left out". You can do this!!!!

these few weeks are a very little deprivation in the grand scheme of things. You are giving your family a healthy YOU. And I can guarantee you that a big splurge on one day of Mexican food will make you regain a good 4 pounds. And it won't just drop off. It will take three days or even more to get back to where you are today, let alone the losses you would have had on those 3 days. It's just so not worth it. You can do cinco next year.

Hey Jackie! I understand how you feel and have felt that way myself. After 3 rounds and now on my 4th, I want to encourage you and share some things that have helped me. I have had a love affair with food all my life and over the last 1 1/2 years I have gradually realized how harmful it has been for me. I am in the midst of a mind set change. Instead of longing for my "old friends". I am focusing on reasons to eat a different way. Recently I asked myself "What if I gave up sweets and carbs and became a person who doesn't eat them anymore?". I felt so sad I wanted to cry at the thought of no more butter cream frosting, pecan pie, Mexican food, or bread! I realized what a trap I was in, because after stabilizing in each round I went back to my old SAD way of eating and regained some of the weight I worked so hard to lose. This protocol is too hard to do to waste the effort by returning to what made me fat in the first place. I have found great motivation in the book "Primal Body Primal Mind" by Nora Gedgaudas. She explains scientific evidence in a way that I understand what I have been doing to my body all these years. I will be 60 in November and from what I am learning, I can choose to be healthier and stronger even as I grow older, by first changing the way I eat . Educate yourself as to why sugar and grains are harmful to you and research what is good for you. You have to make the effort to push the thoughts aside that pull you back to the old ways that have brought you to this place. I know our "old friends"really continue to call out to us, but we can create better "friends" through education and understanding of what our bodies really need. Instead of enduring the protocol until you can get back to that Mexican food, begin to see the possibility of a real and long lasting lifestyle change. You CAN do it and hcg is just the first step to help you get there.

Thanks everyone, I really needed to hear some motivation and your posts really helped! I can and will get through these next few weeks. Once I start phase 3 I'm sure ill feel much better. Plus, weekends are hard having extra time on my hands.
