Default When did Marie's start putting Soybean Oil in their dressings??
I remember eating Marie's a long time ago, and it didn't have soybean oil. It's now the first ingredient on the label. Soybean oil can play havoc with some people thyroids and metabolism.

I know I used to eat a lot of it, but I've also worked my hardest to avoid soy anything for almost 10 years. grrrrr another favorite that is off my P3 list

I thought it always had it in it. You can buy other brands that have canola oil.

I just searched on the web, and a few people noticed it's new to the product.

Yeah, I'm going to have to inspect dressings a little closer now, or start making my own.

Edit: I just looked at my food diary and I ate Marie's two days ago..and then I experienced a weird 3 pound gain. Things are adding up now.

Not to tell you what to do, but now that you've made the discovery, along with others at the link you supplied above.

Take action.

Write Marie's or call their Customer Hotline and tell them that due to their reformulation you will no longer be a consumer or their product, and that they've lost a previously loyal consumer.

It will not make an immediate difference, that much is true, but we have to start letting these food companies know and make them understand that the worsening of their products in the food supply is not going unnoticed, and if enough complaints come in they may in time revert to the original formula in time.

Just my $0.02 for all that's worth.

yep. I did that already. It's amazing how much soy our bodies have to deal with on a daily basis. It's in so many products, and you know it wasn't in everything 50 years ago. 50 year ago, soy was rather exotic in American Foods. I prefer that soybean oil be used to fatten cattle...not me.

I had the same experience as you in terms of reading salad dressing labels. I had to switch to simply dressed by Marinetti, lite house brand, and Brianna's brand. These all have canola oil, which is better than soy, but still not optimum. The first two are usually found right next to the Marie's brand in the fridge section, the last one is in the salad dressing isle. .

I have to agree with you all about the SOY being in everything. For a long time, i wondered why Mayo tasted so different to me. Then I read the label and discovered they added soy now. Its even the first ingredidient in the Mayo that says Conola oil Mayo. Then I checked my favorite pesto... that has soy in it now too! I swear --- even though you have bought things in the past, you still need to read the labels every time you buy. Why are they putting this gunk into everything? Never mind... i already know the answer and I dont like it.
I am hypo thyroid so the list of th ings I cannot have keeps growing. Its very distressing.
