Default Please Confirm My Mixing & Dosing Calculations?
Hello Everyone,

I need to get some feedback as to whether or not I'm figuring out my mixing and dosing calculations correctly. I was given some advice a while ago about how to mix my hcg in order to use a very small amount of bacteriostatic water, but it confused me. I'm still unsure of exactly how to mix it so I'm not using as much bacteriostatic water as I was told to mix my first batch with. I find the amount of liquid I need to use which is 1ml or up to the 100 mark on my insulin syringe is just too much liquid to inject and it's time to mix a new batch.

Here are the instructions I was given for mixing my first batch:

Mix my 5000iu vial of hcg with 25cc's of bacteriostatic water giving me 25 doses, each dose of 1ml or drawn up to the 100 mark on my insulin syringe contains 200iu of hcg.

Now, in order to inject 1/2 as much liquid per injection I should be able to do this:

Mix my 5000iu vial of hcg with 12.5cc's of bacteriostatic water giving me another 25 doses only this time I'll draw up to the 50 mark on my insulin syringe and each dose should contain the prescribed 200iu per dose.

Does this make sense to all you veteran mixers and dosage calculators out there? I know it should be very simple to figure out, but I'm not confident at all when it comes to math and want to make sure I'm dosing exactly as prescribed. I just want to use less liquid so the injections are more comfortable.

It's very embarrassing to be so mathematically challenged!

Thank you for letting me know if this change is still going to give me what is prescribed and that I've calculated it correctly. I truly appreciate the help.

Sincerely,
Sparrow

Well for one thing, both of these are not good instructions. First off, 200 iu is too high of a dose for most people. It used to be good but the hcg got more potent or something about 2 years ago. I would mix a 5000 iu vial with 10 cc (or 20 if you want to mix the way Dr. Simeon did) then start at a dose of 150 iu which would be 30 units (or 60 units if you mix the Simeon way.) Even 150 might be too high and you may need to nudge it down a bit. We see way more hunger on a dose that's too high rather than one that's too low. Both of these mixing instructions provide a mix that's easy to adjust. Good luck!

Hi Colleen,

Sorry to be bothering you guys with mixing instructions. I have no problem going down in the dose; I'm on 200 because that's what my doctor prescribed and I have been on it for 15 days now. I wouldn't need to be mixing a batch yet except my son came home from university today, he saw the vial in the fridge and took it out to see what it was. Being the less than delicate person he is, he dropped it on the tile floor and it smashed. Now I have to deal with this mixing business sooner than I though, and as you can see, I'm not savvy at it.

After being on the 200iu dose for 13 days of a 25 day protocol (23 days of injections unless we decide to go the longer round), should I expect anything to change using the lower dose? I'm surprised the 200iu dose was suggested because I've also noticed people are on 150 and 175iu's for the most part. The only thing I've been bothered with consistently is hunger, which I thought would go away but have learned to ignore it knowing this will end. If I lower my dose now, should I expect the hunger to lessen? I can live with it if the lower dose is better for me, ultimately. I'm just wondering what to expect if I lower the dose at this stage of phase 2.

Thank you for the very simple, clear mixing instructions. It makes perfect sense and I appreciate your prompt reply very much.

I don't know what I would have done without the support offered here!

Thanks Again.

You should have no hunger on the correct dose. Hunger is always a bad sign. I would skip your next shot to get to the right dose more quickly. Good luck!

Sorry Colleen,

I just noticed at the end of your comment you pretty much answered my question about about hunger...I've been experiencing hunger because my dose is most likely too high!

Sorry that didn't register before I replied, but it has now.

I would still like to get your opinion about lowering my dose at this stage though, if you don't mind.

Thanks!

You absolutely should get the dose right. Otherwise you're going to easily regain the weight. Just follow what I said above about skipping your next shot. YOu should feel better by evening, probably late afternoon. Then lower it to 150.

Thanks for that advice. I was probably writing my apology as you were answering my question. lol

I won't worry about mixing anything tonight then. I'll skip tomorrow's dose, mix when I'm not tired and get it right. Your directions are really easy to understand though, so I'm not worried about mixing anylonger.

I'm looking forward to the possibility that changing my dose to 150 will rid me of the the hunger for the remainder of my protocol. It would be nice not to experience it all the time even though I'm able to keep myself busy and ignore it. It's not comfortable, and being comfortable the rest of the way would be great.

Thank you so much for all the information.

I'm looking forward to feeling "shockingly good!"

I came for mixing instructions, and I'm taking away far more than that...it will be really great to feel better on the lower dose.

I'll let you know how I'm feeling with the new instructions after about 48 hours.

This has been very encouraging...thanks for that.
