I am on VLCD4 and have lost 7.8 lbs. I'm feeling pretty well although I have occasional pangs of hunger that come and go randomly throughout the day. I find I am always hungry about 10 minutes after I eat but it goes away eventually. ANYWAY...not the reason for my post. Like most of you, I will have lots of family around and a big Christmas celebration on Christmas Day. I would like to say that I won't cheat and I guess I'm not technically planning on it but I want to be prepared in case it happens. I don't want to fight with myself all day and beat myself down because I want a cookie. Keeping in mind that IF I cheat, I will be moderate...is there a way that will cause the least harm? Like taking less/more drops that day, making adjustments the day before and after? Can someone give me some advice on this? Christmas Day will be my VLCD16. I have 2 work Christmas parties to attend, a cookie exchange at church, a baking day with my sisters, and 4 Christmas celebrations to attend.... I feel like if I know that I have 1 day dedicated to cheat I can be strong throughout the rest of the holiday season. Thanks in advance for any feedback and opinions!

However, if you have been on the diet for at LEAST 20 days, you COULD try a planned interruption. You would still have to do the 72hours of VLCD and NO hcg as you transition into p3..though I don't recommend high carb/sugar crappy food during that time... you could make some of your own treats! like chocolate covered strawberries (with coconut oil, cocoa, stevia) or "donut holes": dates, almond flour, cinnamon mashed up or in food processor, make into balls, then roll in unsweetened coconut shreds. It's up to you... Good luck and Happy Holidays! |

A planned interruption is a minimum of 23 days on hcg so it's too soon to do that. There is no way to minimize the damage. You can plan on no losses for 3 days and it might take you as much as a week to get below what you were before the cheat. there's no way to tell for sure. the best you can do is to eat no fruit or breadsticks on Christmas and hope for the best.

Yes but 20 effective injections is 23.
![]() We distinguish between the first three injections, which we call “non-effective” as far as the loss of weight isconcerned, and the subsequent injections given while the patient is dieting, which we call “effective”. So 20 effective injections is 23 injections total. |

So what is your analysis of this part form Pounds and Inches "Unforeseen Interruptions in Treatment":
"Interruptions occurring before 20 effective injections have been given are most undesirable, because with less than that number of injections some weight is liable to be regained. After the 20th injection an unavoidable interruption is merely a loss of time." Is he saying that if you suddenly MUST do an interruption, then it has to be after 20injections, but no more than 20 injections? I think this is part where some folks get confused. Thanks for your input! ![]() |

You can't eat carbs on your break without regaining everything. Trust me on this. I've been on the forum three years and I see it over and over. When you go off the hcg, your hypothalamus starts working again. It's crucial to follow the P3 eating or the weight will just pile back on. You will have wasted your 23 days.
