Default The new adventures of old Christine.. errr old Shyster57 :)
I really do like that show. Anyhoo.. Thought I'd start my own thread so I can keep up with myself!

I'm 54, soon to be 55 in January 2012. 5'9", overweight since age 7, tried every diet, they all worked the first few times around but now they don't.

I have type 2 diabetes where fasting blood sugar is around 120-130 with medication. I currently take Victoza and hope to be able to give that up pretty quickly. That stuff is expensive! $300 a month.. ouch.

I have been on bio-identical hormones since 2009 - also expensive but don't see myself giving up those! I just ordered a food allergy blood test from life extensions website so maybe I can keep this weight off once and for all (please please please).

And, I also had gastric stapling way back in 1984. I lost some and then got preggers. But I think it's kept me from going over the 300 mark. My appetite before the operation was totally out of control.

I'm starting this diet with HCG Fusion drops. I see that the new ones no longer contain HCG 6x,12x, 30x, 60x but there are still some of the old ones floating around. My intention is to take these drops until my RX comes in and then I'll probably do the shots since I've already ordered the kit off of Amazon. I really don't believe in these drops.. although on my loading days I wasn't very hungry... hmmmm. Could be phychological. At any rate.. here I go.. whooo hoooo!

Just mailed off my food allergy test to be analyzed. It's a finger stick test. 11/17/11

Mailed my weight loss dna test kit 11/19/11 Read about it here on the forums. Go to their website to read up on what they offer and be sure and read the news articles and videos: http://www.inherenthealth.com

*****Supplements: SAM-e 400mg, DHEA, Pregnalone, Iodine, Vit D, Biotin, bio hormones: testosterone, bi-est, progesterone
*****At bedtime for sleep: GABA and Inositol **If you haven't tried these for insomnia, you need to. Read the reviews at Amazon.

*****Per Dr Kruse I'm adding PQQ and K2 starting on 11/21 (my tummy hates vitamin K, won't be taking those)
*****Also adding magnesium, multi-vitamin, omega-3, resveratrol and Acety L-carnitine and Alpha Lipoic Acid

Round one: Monday November 14, 2011

280.5 Starting weight after loading (weight on Oct 31, 2011 was 283, even higher so I'll stick with 280.5 as the starting number).

Day 1 - 1.2 dose Victoza - didn't check BG has been around 111-130 during loading days
hhcg drops several times during the day, didn't keep up with it. Not hungry.
Even though I have apples, oranges and everything I'm suppose to eat I don't.

Day 2 - 1.2 Victoza - Morning BG reading of 106 weight 277.5
I am so not hungry. Maybe it's the victoza combined with no carbs.. Or.. maybe it's the thought of skinless, fatless grilled chicken... at any rate I'll enjoy it while it lasts. BM today.

Day 3 - .6 Victoza - Morning BG reading of 100 weight 274.5
Hungrier this day. Still didn't manage to eat 500 calories, but I could have (and more). Had my first apple. Hunger isn't bad, but it's there. I'm also in ketosis. BM today.

Day 4 - .6 Victoza - Morning BG reading of 98 weight 273
continuing to take my bio-identical hormones but I only take them in the morning. I read that fat releases hormones... I need to read up on which hormones besides estrogen.. anyone know?

Day 5 - NO Victoza - Morning BG reading of 95 weight 271.5
Looks like my BG is coming down a little each day, gonna try a day without it. Which would mean ZERO diabetes drugs . This may be a day to do without fruit!

Day 6 - No Victoza - Morning BG reading of 104 weight 270.2
No fruit yesterday, no diabetes medication. Lost 10 pounds this first week. What a motivator. BM today.

Day 7 - 1.2 Victoza - Morning BG reading of 114 weight ?
Will only weigh once a week now (or try to!!).

Day 8 - 1.2 Victoza - Morning BG reading of 106 weight ?
Looks like I can't give up the victoza just yet.

Day 9 - .6 Victoza - Morning BG reading 98 weight ?
Time sure is flying by. Took my first HCG RX injection yesterday. I have a noticable reduction in appetite since starting the injections.

Day 10 - .6 Victoza - Morning BG reading 94 weight?
Dreamed I ate a couple of pieces of chocolate candy and something else and then suddenly remembered that I'm on a diet! Was almost a nightmare!

Day 11 - .6 Victoza - Morning BG reading 95 weight?
Oh today is Turkey Day! I have no plans and I'm going to stay strong. Sometimes you just have to be a hermit.

Day 12 - .6 Victoza - Morning BG reading 95 weight?
Made it through Thanksgiving, but it was easy.. stayed at home!

Day 13 - 1.2 Victoza - Morning BG reading 114 weight?
Had a large apple yesterday, so my sugar is up. I increased my victoza this morning. I usually only have a fruit if I'm feeling hungry. Think I'm gonna try skipping my HCG today to see if maybe my dose is too large but it's 150 or 3 on the syringe. BM with the help of two doses of Milk of Magnesia. Tomorrow I weigh.. a week after my 10 lb loss.

Day 14 - .6 Victoaz - Morning BG reading 93 weight 265
Not sure if my appetite is related to low blood sugar readings or doing without hcg yesterday. The higher the reading the higher my appetite. Loss of 5lbs during my 2nd week.

Day 15 - .6 Victoza BG reading 97 weight 264.5

Day 16 - .6 Victoza BG reading 92 weight ?

Day 17 - .6 Victoza BG reading 88 weight 263.5

Day 18 - No Victoza BG reading 85 weight ?

Day 19 - .6 Victoza BG reading 95 weight ?
I have a planned off protocol lunch tomorrow on day 20 of vlcd. Fajitas at the local Mexican restaurant. I'll try to make it my only meal of the day. Didn't succeed with the only meal plan, had blt for dinner. Should have stopped with half a sandwich.. but I still have issues. Also had peanut butter. But no sweets! So that is a huge improvement!

Day 20 - 1.2 Victoza BG reading 95 weight 262.5 18lbs in 20 days

Day 21 - 1.2 Victoza BG reading 104 weight 263.5 1lb gain
Oh pooh, gained a lb. Knew I would. Glad it wasn't more! Went off protocol (planned) but back on the HCG wagon today. I'm not willing to give up this feeling of.. a clearer head and more energy. Finally the fog is lifting and I'm loving it.

Day 22 - 1.2 Victoza BG reading 85 weight 264.5
dang, up another pound even though I had less than 500 calories. Water fluctuations are a b***h!

Day 23 - 1.2 Victoza BG reading 88 weight 263
so I'm still up .5 lb from day 20. So one off day takes 3 days to recover from, geeze! No more lunch dates.

Day 24 - 1.2 Victoza BG reading 95 weight 261.5

Day 25 - 1.2 Victoza BG reading 95 weight 262
Day 26 - .6 Victoza BG reading 95 weight 262
Gee I had one day off and still stuck at 262. Nothing lost in 6 days. Sigh.... No fruit yesterday. Never have the melbas.

Day 27 - .6 Victoza BG reading ? Weight 260.5 thank God!

Well I think I've got the hang of this now and will only update on my ticker!

Just got home from the grocery store. Bought chicken breasts from the organic section only to find out it's injected with up to 15% all natural chicken broth.. and the broth contains sugar! Can you believe that??!! Just give me 100% hormone free chicken.... geeeeze. So, I'm soaking it in salt water over nite. I've learned a valuable lesson today. But really I knew it all along... read the label and trust no one!

Good luck with your journey! HCG really does work. I've tried every diet and had lapband surgery 4yrs ago and still couldn't lose weight. I'm on R1 and I've lost 20lbs in 24 days. It is so nice to see the scale move in the right direction for once. You can do it!!!!

Oh my goodness.. 20lbs in 24 days! I can only hope! Not seeing the scale move is what makes me give up.

It's been years and years since I've tried low calorie/low fat so I think this will work. I've become immune to low carb.

Where do you do your injections? Fat or muscle? What dose are you on?

I've looked at all her posts (that I could find and boo to not having any pics!) and want to try and follow the same steps she did for such a huge loss in a short amount of time. From her posts:

She cycles 3 weeks p2 and 3 weeks p3. Then back to p2.
She drinks yerba mate chocolate tea
She has several shots of apple cider vinegar each day.

Seems like this is a fairly new forum and I think she has a lot of posts on the old forum but I don't have a clue to where that is or if it's available to us. And I don't know her age either... darn.

Anyhoo.. thought I'd throw that out there.

Now that I've read more on Dr Kruse's site I see that "Broth" is another term for MSG. How can the FDA let them get away with having so many different terms for MSG?! So not right. But I've never been a fan of the FDA.

The chicken is so tender and it's obvious now what's going on when it says it's injected with 15% broth. grrrrrrr

So, I went grocery shopping again last night. Found some chicken without the added MSG "broth". The consistancy of the meat is totally different.

I was going to pick up some more organic cucumbers but this time was looking at the price tag. Here at Kroger one organic cucumber is $2.50 each. A regular cuke is .83 cents. I bought the regular.

I usually eat one cucumber a day with mustard. Surprisingly good.

I tried the spinich chips... jury is still out on that one. I guess you have to be on the VLCD for more than a week for that to be a treat

mlove,

Victoza is a new diabetes drug, a lot like Byetta. Very effective. Works really well but causes thyroid cancer in mice... yikes! So I'm glad I can live without it

Here are a couple of links I'd like to share. You can order Saliva Testing Kits directly from either of these sites for at home testing. Do the test at home, send it back in and they'll provide you with the results. You'll have to take the results to your doctor for interpretation if needed. I'm sure you'll find interpretation results on the internet.

http://www.zrtlab.com/health-care-co...er-a-test.html - direct from the lab (shipping is cheaper)

http://www.johnleemd.com/store/prod_stest.html - provides a whole lot of information

I'm anxious to see my cortisol levels. Anxious being the operative word!

Really fast delivery on this. I ordered on Nov 15th and received it Nov 21.

Mixed for the first time, had a little difficulty getting all the hcg out of the small bottle using the mixing syringe. But only a couple of drops remained.

By the time I had loaded all 30+ syringes, I was an expert.

I REALLY appreciate all the advice on this forum!

Oh my goodness.. I am SO not hungry this evening. I'm stunned.. shocked... wow. Is this what the HCG does?? Really??

Well crap.. I took my first Vitamin K pill and now I have stomache cramps. THAT's why I wasn't hungry. Ouch!

I told my husband that I'm feeling a bit antsy... that I'm finally bored with staying at home so much. It suddenly occured to me.. that this feeling.. of being antsy... could it be.. is it actually.. ENERGY?

If so, I haven't felt it in so long I didn't know what it was!

I started as a 311.8 pound, 6'2" testosterone glob and at 500 calories a day for 31 days without any trace of hunger.

Most days I had to choke down food with absolutely no interest whatsoever.

It's amazing

Genetic test: I do best on a low calorie diet, doesn't have to be low carb or low fat, better balanced. With high intensity exercise, won't lose on low intensity.

Food Allergy: Everything was Moderate or Avoid. Only ONE item was in the low category, kidney beans. Read that if you have mostly moderate's to avoids then you probably have "leaky gut".. oh boy.
