So, I just finished day 16 (I am doing injections of Ovidac) and everything has been really great. I've lost weight steadily with no plateaus, no bad side effects except for a little weakness here and there. I've been keeping to 500 calories a day without struggling.
Fast forward to today. I was hungry! I increased my intake of tea, which helped a little but...still hungry. After my last meal of the day, I am usually totally full and today this was not the case, I can't stop thinking about food and I think I have no choice but to eat at least a little something before I sleep. So the possibilities are as follows: --There have been times when I left my mixed vial out of the fridge for like an hour or two. ![]() This happened maybe 3 or 4 times over the last 16 days. It would just slip my mind occasionally and then I would remember. So it's possible that this made it lose potency. I will be much more careful in the future. --Maybe it's just normal to have a few hungry days? I have never done this diet before and my experience has been of not being hungry. But maybe this is normal and I shouldn't change anything? --The dosage I am using is for 1000iu spread over 23 days and I have another unmixed 1000iu that I was planning on using next week (I am doing the 43 days). I had read some people using just one 1000iu for the entire 43 days, but I decided I was better off buying two. Anyway, I have six days left on my current vial--should I abandon it and mix up the other one? If people have been successful using 1000 iu for 43 days, I imagine that mine could last 28 as long as I didn't make the same mistake of leaving it out of the fridge. I guess all these questions are moot if the hunger is gone tomorrow. ![]() |

I don't have much wisdom regarding this, as I am not a veteran, but I am also using Ovidac 5000IU (sub-L though), and I am starving. This is only VLCD1 for me, or the end of it. I was wondering if you were hungry for the first few VLC days? I don't see that many people on here who use the Ovidac so I'm interested to see how it has been working for you.

Actually my mistake-- I have two 5000iu not 1000iu.
Anyway, Primadonna, yes, to be more accurate, I was definitely hungry at first! The first two days actually. And then day 3 the hunger was gone. I wrote a post about it at the time (expressing gratitude that my hcg was working well) and I totally know how you're feeling. In my experience it absolutely passes and it really helps to drink tea. Like yummy teas (I have several flavored black teas like vanilla and cinammon etc). Eventually the HCG starts affecting your hunger and you will be satisfied with the 500 calories. Unless...you are like me, who keeps leaving the hcg out of the refrigerator which causes it to lose potency and then it cannot help you! ![]() ![]() ![]() Actually, I am not sure if the drops are refrigerated as well. Anyway, yes, I was hungry at first so that is normal. I hope the HCG kicks in for you really soon. You'll find it gets much, much easier. Or at least that was my experience. And hopefully today is an anomaly. |

It's very common to have to lower the dose at about this point. Try skipping your shot tomorrow and see how you feel by late afternoon and into the evening. Well, today I actually feel fine. ![]() |
