Default Embarrassing question--side effect?
Um, so is anyone else experiencing horrible breath? I am doing a long round and during the first 1/2 I didn't have this issue, or if I did, no where near what I've been experiencing the last week or two. Ugh. My breath and mouth feel gross even immediately after brushing. I know it is a sign of ketosis so that is good, but this is over the top when I can't even feel "fresh" after brushing/flossing/tongue scraping/mouthwashing!!!! Within a minute I'm back to a bad taste and atrocious breath. I'm going to buy some SF gum, I know its off protocol as until my next trip to the states I can't get the special ones that have stevia, but ick.

Yesterday I went off protocol for the day (did a PI, stopped shots a few days ago, ate yesterday, now back on today), so I would have though with the carbs I had yesterday that my breath issue would be gone today, but nope. Sitting here minutes after brushing and feeling like I haven't in forever.

Anyone else going through this and WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT IT????? And when will it END? P3, P4???

The following is from this website http://www.badbreathlogy.com/ .. I have not personally tried the solutions, and you would have to determine if they are outside the HCG protocol or not.

Bad Breath Remedies at Home

There are several simple and practical remedies that you can try at home as halitosis cure. These include:

Brush with baking soda to reduce the acidity in the mouth and make it difficult for the bacteria to grow
Brush and rinse using hydrogen peroxide when you have upper respiratory infections but don’t swallow it
Gargle with salt water to reduce bacteria in the mouth
Avoid eating foods with refined carbohydrates and sugars like cookies, sweets, cakes, carbonated soft drinks, ice creams and syrups
Drink sufficient amount of water (6-8 glasses) daily
Brush teeth daily especially before going to bed
Mix a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds to ½ liter of water, simmer for 15 minutes, strain and drink as tea
Exercise and eat fiber rich foods to prevent constipation
Stop bad breath and gum bleeding by chewing unripe guava fruit or its tender leaves
Eat avocado to remove intestinal decomposition that leads to bad breath

I have this, bad breath and a horrible taste in my mouth. My mother even commented on it to me - how nice! lol

I carry a packet of breath mints with me and try to have one in my mouth whenever I'm in public. I know they're not protocol but I couldn't be around other people without them, it is that bad.

Fresh parsley will help, as well as fresh mint in water. I use a natural breath spray, though my ketosis produces a sweet taste/smell, whereas it sounds like you have the metallic byproduct.

Bad breath is a sign of digestive problems. I would suggest trying to take a digestive enzyme with each meal and also taking some acidophilus for a few months. This will replenish the good bacteria in your digestive tract. That's why all the external things you are doing like brushing your teeth, mouthwash, etc. isn't being successful. I hope this helps.
