Default Confused about some stuff in phase 3,4 and after the diet.
Hello,
So I got on the diet b/c due to my health I couldn't work out and I was way way over weight, I've lost some weight and I am feeling better and I want to start working out. I saw that working out it's self isn't a problem but what I''m confused about is the stabilizing. I have lost weight with the diet but I'm not where I want to be and I can't afford to do another round anytime soon so what I wanted to do what kick start my weight lose with the HCG and the work the rest off with eating right and exercise, but it seems like that might not be a good thing. So can I do what I was planning? or am I only suppose to lose weight with the HCG?

Also, after the diet is completely over, can you ever go back to eating "normally' as long as your keeping the bad stuff to a minimum? or are you band from the bad stuff for ever? ( I don't plan on ever eating like I used to but everyone knows the circumstances come around that include bad food lol )

So yeah, any input would bee much appreciated!

Thank you,
Marissa

Hi, Marissa! I'm not an expert, but this is what I've learned from reading posts from the vets around here:

With respect to losing weight after the HCG diet, you can lose it the normal way, but you will need to stabilize through no less than three weeks of P3 and three weeks of P4 at or around your last injection weight (LIW) or last dosage weight (LDW) depending on what type of HCG you are taking. Once you stabilize through P3 and P4, you can move forward in losing weight the old fashioned way through diet and exercise. The key is trying to stabilize during those last two phases.

As far as eating "normal" again, from what I read, it sounds like you should be able to eat "normal" food again, but it is not quite as simple as that. The nutrition aspect of the HCG diet is essentially an elimination diet. With an elimination diet, you can figure out what foods you have sensitivities to. For instance, I used to eat eggs normally, but they kind of always made me feel sick to my stomach. The first time I did this diet, I eliminated eggs in P2. In P3 when I added them, I had a big gain and my ankles swelled. The gain went away eventually, but it made me not want to eat eggs obviously.

Now did HCG make me not able to eat eggs like I had? No. The elimination diet showed me that I am sensitive to eggs, so I know not to go eat a huge omellette like I did last time on my first day of P3.

Sometimes people mistake the effects of having been on an elimination diet as having something to do with the HCG itself and think that means they can't eat normally. But the reaction would happen with any other type of elimination diet. The key is reintroducing foods into your system at a slow rate.

I hope this is helpful! Good luck with your losses!
