Default IN MENOPAUSE AND SPOTING ON HCG???
Anyone else going through menopause and start to spot while on HCG. Does anyone know if I need to do anything about it? I haven't had a period in six months, Dr said I am in full blown menopause from my hormone levels, any advice???

You don't have to stop. Many have noticed the hcg messes with their periods. The hcg does make the hormone levels move around. I noticed I need less of my bioidentical hormones while on the hcg.

Grammy....or anyone. I heard that you have to stop the HCG shots when on your period? Is this true? Does it make any differences to the weight loss whether or not I do or dont stop while on my cycle?

I'm sure it did! But I've seen posts over the months from others who hadn't had a period in months and then had spotting so don't be afraid! A small price to pay for the weight loss! :-)

Nita, technically you are not menopausal until you have gone a year without a period. The hcg may have done it, or you may have had a period on your own. Even with full blown menopausal blood levels, you don't stop your periods until you stop....)

I kept up with the shots on my period. I know Dr. S says to stop, but the knowledge of female hormones in the early 1950's was sketchy at best. As we now know, hcg is produced if the cycle results in pregnancy (hence the positive in home preg test), but the level falls if there is not a pregnancy...which then results in a period and the cycle starts again. I have no doubt there is some hcg during your period, but to say it actually increases goes against what we now know as the homonal changes that occur at the beginning of pregnancy.

Just my 2 cents, or so )

Dang, been 4 months without a period and now began spotting, I knew hope for a straight year without was too good to be true. Anyone know if I should expect any gains with this?

I am 54, have been on HCG about a month and haven't had a period in 14 months UNTIL this week. Not just spotting, this is a full blown period like I used to have. Scared me to death. I have been looking all evening for something that would tell me it could be the HCG. Sounds like it is, just don't know if I should get off or not.

It's likely the hcg has triggered it.

Grammy, can it actually make you start having a period again after more than a year of not? If I stay on the HCG will I keep having a period? The most wonderful part of menopause was no more period .... dont' want to start it again.

Glad to find this post. I haven't had a period in 18 months and was wondering if anybody had started bleeding after starting the hCG. Truthfully, it's not surprising. Yes, it is very nice to not have a period, but I will take one or more in exchange for this fat ... LOL

Coincidentally, I was cleaning the bathroom last weekend and came across a hefty supply of pads and plugs. My thought then was to give them all away -- I guess I'll hang onto them until this diet is over.

It really messes with my periods so I like to only do the 21 day cycles and start as soon as my period stops and then wind down just as the next one starts. It could be menopause, I don't know... at 42 it could be. I bled so much the one time I got scared so I am really careful about taking drops during my period. I have a bunch of friends though that have done both the shots and the homeopathic without any problems at all.

Wow, I never thought about this. I'm in Menopause, haven't had a period since Last March, and during R1, well when I stopped R1 and stopped the drops was about the same time I started spotting and then a full blown period. Called my doc but it never accured to me it was from the HCG so I didn't even mention it to her. (My GYN Doc), I just didn't know if I needed to adjust my HRT meds or not. Now it all makes sense. I'm about to start R2 soon so I will know if this happens again and not freak out about it.
