Default Can You Donate Plasma?
I was hoping to donate some plasma this weekend for a little extra Christmas cash, but don't know if it's allowed by either the diet or the plasma center. Anyone know?

When I asked my diet counselor about donating blood, they told me to leave it up to the blood donation agency, to just let them know that I was taking HCG.
Hope this helps..

Sorry to be the messenger of bad news, but you can't donate Plasma while on HCG and need to wait the entire T-life of the hormone/injection prior to any sort of blood or plasma donations. (and even then it is questionable). This is actually also in the RED cross manual for donors. For a while they had to Ban all female plasma donors due to a hormone complication associated with pregnant women and plasma donation. Essentially it can cause the shut down of the respiratory system in male recipients. If i remember correctly it is referred to as TRALI or something like that - if you call the Redcross, they will give you more information. Just as one donor to another - I would be careful of donating at clinics that pay their donors - some of your fellow donors may have habits and you don't want to risk any sore of exposure. More information can be found at:

Good luck!
