Ok this is what I have done. (My first steak day was unsuccessful also) I do not drink coffee or tea.
1...I drink about 10 bottles of water throughout the day.
2...I go and buy 2 pounds worth of good ribeye steak.
3...I grilled the meat on a non-stick skillet with only sea salt and pepper.
4...I eat at about 5:30 at night.
5...I eat a huge granny Smith apple after my steaks.
6...I drink a few more bottles of water before going to bed.

I cooked it in butter the first time and gained! No butter or oils to cook in!! I have done 4 steak days now and have had huge success since I started following this regiment! I hope this works for you! Oh I do not eat the grisel some do...yuck! Good Luck! Keep me posted!

P.S. I know this is wierd, but everytime I drank tea with stevia I would stall! It is supposed to be safe, but it wasn't for me!

2#? holy cow.... I could never get that much meat down.

i think most people can cook it in oil or butter and do fine. although some versions of the protocol say not to use any salt.

i think 1# or even a bit less still qualifies as a "huge" steak. remember that in europe their servings are generally much, much smaller than in the US- especially 50 yrs ago!

If Steak Days don't work for you I would do a Protein Day.

But I do have some Steak Day tips:
1) Drink LOTS of water. I drink about 3 liters.
2) Eat a steak of a minimum of 1lb.
3) Eat slowly, Chew the meat! I've noticed that when I eat really fast because of my hunger during steak days I don't really chew my meat and I get bloated and I don't lose as much.
4) Use as little salt as possible... if you are brave you can use no salt (increases weight loss) , but the steak won't taste very good.
5) Eat your steak and apple/tomato from 5:30 to 6:30.
6) Do something after eating, don't just go and sit down to watch TV. I walk a minimum of 15 minutes. You can just clean your room or whatever... anything is better than doing nothing.
7) Have some digestive enzymes with your meat. For me, it is too much meat for my body to digest by itself.
8) Don't sleep too late.
9) Relax, enjoy the meal and be happy.

These are all really good tips. I always eat a tomato with my steak, I had an apple once and didn't do as well so from now on I stick to the tomato. I'm not saying don't do the apple, just that I do better with the tomato. Lots and lots of water throughout the day and as much steak as you can get down.

Losingitforgood,

Enzymes that help you to break down the food (protein, fat and carbs) you ingest. Sometimes when I eat too much steak in a steak day I have trouble digesting it so the enzymes help.

You can buy them in GNC or any local health food store.

I was thought the steak had to be without any salt.

Mac,
Some poeple do it with salt and some without salt.
It works best without salt, you lose more. But the steak tastes really bland so I add a little bit of salt. I still lose about 2 lbs.

You can get enzymes at any health food place or like vitamin shoppe or GNC, it should tell you on the bottle how many to take there a million different brands, i have noticed its helped me A LOT i feel SO much less bloated and since we are eating so much protein i think its a REALLY good idea to take them. i take 2-3 capsules a day after my biggest meals

LadyRider,
I take the Multi-Enzyme Formula or the Super Digestive Enzymes for digestive enzymes. One or two (depending on what and how much you ate) with every meal.
And Milk Digestants when I eat dairy products.

They can be found in GNC. But like LittleLuce said, there are lots of brands, so you can choose another one if you want to.

I'm nowhere near P3, but I'd like to know: if I should need a steak day, can I use two kinds of meat to make up my pound+ of steak? Like, 1/2 pound of ostrich and 1/2 pound of top sirloin? Or maybe two different cuts of beef? Does it make a difference? I figure breaking it up into two kinds of protein might make it mentally easier to fathom than wolfing down one Flinstones-sized slab of beef
