Default STALLED in WEEK 1 for 4 days, PLEASSE HEELLPP!!!
Hello,

I posted a thread in Newcomer Infomation yesterday when I was on the 3 day stall in WEEK 1. Today, I wake up and I am still stalled... I am soooo confused what I could be doing wrong. I follow the protocol to a T except sometimes I mix veggies. I count calories on an app I have on my phone. Yesterday, I upped my water intake, thinking that may be the problem. I am just so freaking confused. I was expecting the weight to drop off the first week and here I have been stalled for 4 days.

Female, 32 yrs old, 5'8", starting weight 170, goal weight 145, hhcg drops 8 5x day

Preload: 170.9
Post Load: 172.5
VLCD 1: 169.9
VLCD 2: 166.8
VLCD 3: 166.6
VLCD 4: 166.6
VLCD 5: 166.6
VLCD 6: 166.2

Please Help!!! I am seriously about to chuck it! It is a lot of work to not be losing when this is supposed to be the most drastic loss week!
I have to be doing something wrong.

don't mix veggies! for most people the protocol is very sensitive and the slightest deviation can mess up your progress. what else are you eating? like what is a typical day for you foodwise?

The past 2 days I have been eating about 12 shrimp with an 2 cups iceberg and romaine salad mix for lunch. I have been eating chicken with 1/2 canned diced tomato and a little onion, tomato paste and 1 cup cooked spinach for dinner. I had one apple yesterday and no fruit the day before. I never eat the melba toast. I've been drinking a tea mixture that I got from Teavana and lots of water.

Today, I just ate a romaine salad with some grilled chicken on top. I weigh all my meats. Have been a little confused on the amount of veggies.

I haven't had a "good" bm in 4 days (just a little here and there) TMI... i know! Drank some smooth move this morning.

Any suggestions will help.... Thanks so much!!

did you check the ingrediants on all spices, and in your canned tomatoes? Things like any type of sugar, or soy or starch can really stall you.

What are you having for breakfast? Don's skip your fruit for breakfast...And not to sound nosy, but are you by any chance going on PMS? because we go through a stall when that comes rolling around..

I will check tonight when I get home... I know I have been looking for sugars and don't see that in the ingredients. Although on the nutrition label it says 3g of sugar. Was thinking that was the natural sugar in tomato. I have NO IDEA!!! LOL!!!

You're eating too much tomato. It's very high in natural sugar. Tomato paste is super high because it's got so much tomato in it. Try cutting out one fruit and replacing it with that many protein calories.

And according to protocol, you don't eat breakfast. (Responding to someone who recommend fruit for breakfast.) You CAN eat it if you're starving but you'll lose better if you wait until lunch.

technically tomatoe is a fruit, so I would count it as a fruit personally. As far as the rest of the vegetables. It is seriously hard to eat too many of them.

I wouldn't eat more than 1 tomato a day. The canned stuff isn't good. It's got more than 1 in it and it's got tons of sodium. Yes you can eat more meat and less fruit. People with insulin issues lose better that way.

If considered a fruit, can I eat it with another vegetable.... HMMM??? Like could I have tomato and salad. I have been mixing veggies, and people are saying not to do so, but if I count tomato as a fruit then I should be ok... This is like some freaking riddle!! LOL

I love tomato, if you can't tell!!

Oh lord... had I known this I would have probably been satisfied the past couple of days.... I would much prefer to eat more chicken, as I usually have to force myself to eat the fruit.

Another question I have that I am sure you can help me with. Can I eat the tomato with chicken (cut out the tomato paste) and add another veggie (i.e Spinach). One tomato and 3.5 oz of chicken is NOTHING!!

Thanks soooooooo much!

For your first round, it is far better to just stick to the tried-and-true protocol. It's only 23-40 days anyway, right?

Just wanted to say that I cut out all fruit added a little more protein and ate no tomatoes yesterday. Down 2 lbs today!! YAY!!!! I did however have 1 tomato for lunch today with about 5oz of chicken. We will see how this works out!

Thanks EVERYONE who posted! I needed to not feel like I was doomed!
