Default Calories Burned In Each Activity
Most people know how much calories they burn each day by using the calorie burn calculator. However, do you know much calories you are burning in each activity that you do? Here are some of the common activities and the average calories you burn per hour (assuming your weight is 70kg):

Sports

Badminton (singles, doubles, general) - 315 calories
Basketball (non-game) - 420 calories
Billiards - 175 calories
Bowling - 210 calories
Football (general) - 560
Golf - 315 calories
Skateboarding - 350 calories
Baseball/Softball (general) - 350 calories
Tennis (general) - 490 calories

House Activities

Cleaning (light) - 175 calories
Food preparation (general) - 140 calories
Laundry (standing, general) - 140 calories
Ironing - 161 calories
Making bed - 140 calories
Washing Dishes (general) - 161 calories

Other activities

Sitting (reading/writing) - 126 calories
Standing - 140 calories
Quiet Sleeping - 63 calories
Jogging (general) - 490 calories
Running (general) - 560 calories
Walking (to work or class) - 280 calories
Riding in bus - 70 calories
Driving (light automobile) - 140 calories
Driving Motorcycle - 175 calories

Awesome! I'm glad to see that I'm burning these much calories by doing most of these activities. I did see that these are based on 70kg weight (I weigh way below that) but still, the calories I'm burning should be close to these numbers.

Very good post kathy. These breakdown of calories burned per activity is a useful information. Even simple house chores burns these much calories. Now I just need to move more to burn more.

Thanks mikaela, sasa. I love basketball and if I play this sport, I'll burn at least 420 calories per hour. Sounds good to me. I'm thinking of changing my exercise to this.
