Default Basal Metabolic Rate
Do you know how to compute your basal metabolic rate? It is important that we know so we have an idea how much calories you need to eat, how much you need to burn to lose weight and how much you need to take in to maintain your weight. I have found this calculator to help everyone who needs them.

Thanks mikaela! I was actually thinking of searching for a calculator that will help me determine my BMR. I will definitely try it right now and see how much calories I need everyday

I did calculate my BMR and it showed that I need to consume 1500 calories daily however I only consume about 1000-1200 calories daily. Knowing this is very important so we know how much we need to burn to lose weight.

Limiting your calorie intake really does help in losing a lot of weight. My BMR is 1540 calories per day and I think so consume about the same . I'm not really sure because I don't know how and have not counted my calorie intake. I just maintain a balanced diet and keep my body active all the time to stay fit

Yeah it really is. I just didn't know to calculate them before mikaela posted the link to the calculator here . I'm really glad that I now know how much calories I need so I can estimate the food that I need to take in. If I am consume more than my daily requirement then I know I have to exercise more to burn the extra calories from my body to prevent weight gain

I'm glad that you all like them. I figured that most of us want to know how to calculate their BMR to help in losing or maintaining weight.

Thanks for sharing the link mikaela. It really is helpful especially for those who just started dieting or still planning to go on a diet. However, knowing your BMR is just the first step of the diet process.
