Do you know how to compute your basal metabolic rate? It is important that we know so we have an idea how much calories you need to eat, how much you need to burn to lose weight and how much you need to take in to maintain your weight. I have found this calculator to help everyone who needs them.

Limiting your calorie intake really does help in losing a lot of weight. My BMR is 1540 calories per day and I think so consume about the same
