Hi. I'm forty-five, female, fat. That last one has to change. I was a slender fit person until about ten years ago. Atkins worked for me in the middle of this fat period, but I stressed out and went off it. I know what I did wrong. I stayed in a "support group" that was rabidly hostile to the diet that works. I learn from my mistakes.
It was much easier to maintain being a slim person than it is to become one again. It's all good, and I'm ready to take this on. I do dread the carbohydrate withdrawal. I'm not in Induction yet, but sort of easing into it, having a small salad with protein for each meal, but drinking coffee and eating nuts and chickpeas on my salads. Glad to be here and hope to hear many words of encouragement. It's a tough thing to start, but so worth it. |

hodja...Im new here too so far its been really great and nothing negative. I look forward to seeing your progress and good luck to you.
One thing I will suggest is to dive all the way in to induction because the sooner you get into ketosis the sooner the cravings will be under control. Glad you found this site ![]() |

Welcome aboard! I am also female, 48 and fat. Atkins worked for me 5 years ago but then I got pregnant and that was it for the diet.
I started induction again 3 weeks ago and I'm already down 5.5 - 6 kilo. I love the lifestyle. I feel like I'm really taking good care of myself. I also feel that I could make this work long term by adding in carbs. Go for the induction. You'll be in 7th heaven when ketosis kicks in and the cravings say "adios". There's nothing like it. Best of luck! |
