Today i weighed myself and found that id put on a pound in one day. I weigh myself everyday and usually lose 1 pound whenever i step on the scales. Im not dressed differently and weighed myself after using the restroom and at the same time as i do since i started atkins.
Yesterday i ate the same as i usually do. breakfast - 2 eggs 2 bacon Lunch - Tuna and mayo salad Dinner - Mushrooms 60g -1 chicken breast Snacks -Prawns Im doing induction right now and noticed that it says i shouldnt go 6 hours without eating. As i went out yesterday and couldnt find any food i could eat i had a 6 and a half hour gap where i didnt eat. Is this the reason why i have gained weight? I have had the implant very recently put in. In the book it says estrogen can delay weight loss. but could it have affected me this quickly?? What am i doing wrong?? |

You didn't "gain a pound". Your weight fluctuated by one # on your scale. It might not even be a whole pound. Depends on what your scale measures to. My old one measured to 0.5 pound. So for the scale to drop 1/2# I had to be closer to that number than above it. So 120.2 would read 120. But 120.4 would read 120.5. That's only 2/10th of a pound difference but it would APPEAR to be a half pound gain. 0.2 is a tiny amount of water....
My guess is that it's water. A very small amount of water. Drink at least 64oz today, avoid unnecessary sodium (eat fresh, no processed stuff) and see what the scales says tomorrow. Relax... you're doing FINE. ![]() |

I've tried to explain it to others this way in the past:
Weigh yourself Eat or drink something Weigh yourself Oh no, just like that you've gained a pound! All that work amounted to nothing... or not. What you eat and drink doesn't just go away in between weigh-ins (even ones a day or more apart). From my personal experience it can take upwards of 72 hours to get rid of food, and depending on salt intake. Liquids are usually much, much faster, but depending on salt intake you could have "water weight" for days or even weeks. The scale isn't a very reliable tool, and realistically unless you want to be a jockey or a wrestler, I don't think *anyone* cares what you weigh. How do you look? How do you feel? How are your clothes fitting? These are the things that matter. |
