Default Why am i not losing weight??
So i watch what i eat very carefully, not to the point where i'm under eating though. I drink plenty of water, exercise, and avoid sugar at all costs. BUT I'M NO LONGER LOSING WEIGHT i've been doing an extended induction (i still don't eat fruits but i do limit nuts and cheese) and the first few days after i started induction, i lost weight easily and steadily and i was on the right path towards my goal! Now, my weight on the scale has been going up, my clothes are tighter, and all of my trouble areas are getting.. more troublesome! What's going on?

More info, please!

Age, height, weight, goal... most importantly, what are you eating. List it all, and amounts and carb counts.

Also... are you doing low carb or Atkins? Nuts aren't okay on Atkins Induction. Do you have the food list of you are trying to do Atkins??

I think we can help you... just give us more to go on!!

Well I'm 18, and i guess I'm not trying to lose weight but maintain what i had been recently so i don't really have a goal, per say. I've been 108-110 but within the last week i'm up to 117. I'm also 5'3".

My eating is usually similar to this:
Breakfast- a couple of slices of lunch meat (no carb), a piece of string cheese, and a egg or omelette.

Lunch- Low carb wrap (3g net carb) with lunch meat (no carb) and maybe a string cheese (depending on if i had one for breakfast) and occasionally an Atkins advantage bar.

Dinner- Typically, my dinners are not big and around 3 p.m. i just begin to snack until 7. All eating stops after 7 p.m.

Snacks- Celery with cream cheese, 1/4 cup nuts (pecans or almonds), pork rinds, yogurt (i eat quite a bit of plain yogurt sweetened with splenda or stevia), or a small piece of cheese (still depending on if i ate some previously or not).

And quite honestly, I think i'm doing a mixture of low carb and Atkins. I do eat nuts but only minimal quantities and cheese as well, but i try to follow the rules of the Atkins diet as well. I just try to aim for no more than 30 carbs per day, give or take a few.

Thanks for any help!

Okay, which is it? You're at a VERY good weight for your height and age.

I agree with Bluehex... you really need to eat vegetables. Not all carbs are created equal. The majority of your carbs should come from veggies, not wraps, nuts and yogurt. You can have those, but they should be in addition to your veg carbs.

My recommendation is lots of low carb veggies, fresh meats (not deli meats), limited cheese/nuts/yogurt, ditch the processed Atkins candy bars (that's really all they are), make sure you're still eating the good fats (from the meats and from sources like olive oil and butter).

One last question (since you're 18 and I've raised two kids past that age...): Do you drink? Even low/no carb alcoholic beverages will stop your weight loss cold. Your body will metabolize the alcohol before anything you eat. I'm wondering if this might be an issue. I understand you not wanting to disclose this... but it if it IS something you do, I would say it's your biggest road block to weight loss/wt maintenance.
