I've seen it and not bought it... went and looked up the ingredient list to find out why I put it back.
"INGREDIENTS: WATER, OILS (SOYBEAN OIL, EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL*), VINEGAR, WHOLE EGGS AND EGG YOLKS, MODIFIED CORN STARCH*, SUGAR, SALT, LEMON JUICE, (SORBIC ACID*, CALCIUM DISODIUM EDTA) USED TO PROTECT QUALITY, XANTHAN GUM*, CITRIC ACID*, NATURAL FLAVORS, OLEORESIN PAPRIKA, BETA CAROTENE* (COLOR). GLUTEN-FREE. *INGREDIENT NOT IN MAYONNAISE" It's the * stuff. In particular, the modified corn starch and the xanthan gum. I don't want starch in my mayo and I do NOT like the way xanthan gum makes things "gooey". This mayo is a reduced fat version of real mayonaise. I would suggest that you get the real deal. If you want one made from olive oil, make it yourself. Here's the ingredient list for real mayo (Best Foods): "INGREDIENTS: SOYBEAN OIL, WATER, WHOLE EGGS AND EGG YOLKS, VINEGAR, SALT, SUGAR, LEMON JUICE, CALCIUM DISODIUM EDTA (USED TO PROTECT QUALITY), NATURAL FLAVORS." For an FYI, I would buy either of these. I buy canola only mayo. I don't eat soy. Tril |
