Default Erythritol???
Question about Erythritol. I ran across Organic Erythritol at my local grocery store (in packets) according to the box, this stuff sounds great for my morning coffee and baking. Is there any reason that it isn’t mentioned more on this site? Also, when I do see it used, it is used along with Splenda. Can it be used alone as a sweetener any time sweetening is called for?

I've been looking for ways to cut calories without resorting to weird chemicals, (I think of myself as the whole foods version of Hungry Girl) and I'm really impressed with it. It's a sugar alcohol that's almost as sweet as sugar and sold it health foods stores and Whole Foods. It's pretty expensive though, (anywhere from $8-12 for 3 cups) so I only use it sparingly in tea and coffee and occasionally sprinkled on fruit or oatmeal.
