Here is the assertion that Egypt has a motivation to go to war with Israel especially if Egypt knows it will lose. There's some credence to this approach; that Israel would of course be forced to immediately give up everything that it gained in such a war, just as it did the last time it went to war with Israel. Moreover, and Gordon doesn't really touch on this, how could Israel hold that territory w/ so many Egyptians and Beduins living there? It would be an unending terrorist war and if Israel can't built patio in Jerusalem then it won't be permitted to relocate or even apply any governance to any of the people living there now.
