I've removed several pointless posts and changed the thread title.

Instead of telling the few friends we have in Europe to bug off, and fighting with each other like cats and dogs, let's stick to intelligent discussion of the issues.

"ISRAELI OCCUPATION WORSE THAN THE NAZI OCCUPATION OF THE NETHERLANDS"

"THE CRUELTY OF THE ISRAELIS KNOWS NO BOUNDS"
- Comments made by Gretta Duisenberg, wife of the President of the European Central Bank, while visiting the West Bank this week

Join the Simon Wiesenthal Center's protest to Dutch Prime Minister, Dr. Jan Pieter Balkenende, and Javier Solana, the Secretary General of the European Council, calling for the revocation of the diplomatic passport of Gretta Duisenberg because of her continued antisemitic, hateful campaign against Israel and the Jewish people.

Duisenberg, the wife of Wim Duisenberg, the President of the European Central Bank and Europe's most powerful banker, stated in an interview today in a Dutch newspaper while visiting the West Bank that "the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories is worse than the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands" and "the cruelty of the Israelis knows no bounds." Earlier this week, she expressed an understanding for the motivation behind suicide bombers.

"It is no longer possible for the Dutch government to look the other way," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean and founder of the Center. "Duisenberg used her husband's position to obtain a diplomatic passport which was used in an inappropriate fashion. Her continued abusive campaign has besmirched the memory of Anne Frank and all those Dutch people who fought and suffered at the hand of the Nazis," he concluded.

As far as I’m concerned the Palestinians aren’t victims because of the Israelis. Far too many Arab and EU countries instill the thought in them that the Jews are responsible for what they don’t have. It seems to me however that whatever pictures come out of there show well-nourished healthy individuals.

During the German occupation of Holland many individuals there were forced to eat Tulip bulbs for survival.

In any event the Palestinian leadership could put pen to paper and sign the Oslo II Accord (or similar document) anytime and get on with leading their new-formed territory. Jordan and Egypt signed the document and after all they were the ones that lost the land. Right or wrong it seems that the Likud Party is dedicated to give the Palestinians statehood. There is of course the obstacle that the Palestinians keep committing terrorist attacks.

The statements that Gretta Duisenberg has made were obscene and the fact that her husband backed her 100% makes them that much worse. These statements are bound to result in more loss of innocent lives in the ME.

I have often said that it is my opinion that the land issues would have been settled long ago if it had only been Israel and the Palestinian leadership at the bargaining table. Unfortunately that has never been the case.

Default Gretta Duisenberg prefers Nazis and Pal terrorists
No... there was an article not that long ago about how Lawernce made all sorts of deals and promises with some arab "royals" in how to divide up the arab states and palestine. I"ll have to look for it. I hope I have it in my files but I sort of doubt it. It is one of those little quite events that affected the entire middle east from then on out .
