It's certainly vogue and a career enhancer to appear that way though isn't it? I mean isn't it clear that Moore really doesn't have strong feelings or opinions about anything except Michael Moore?

Michael Moore has done us all a great service in tearing down the last vestige of any difference between documentary and Op-Ed. As of now there is officially no truth available from anyone. Now everyone can retreat to their caves making love noises to their own reflections.

Ran into my neighbour the other day.She was on the way to see Farenheit 9/11..said she loved Michael Moore and he tells the truth about Bush.She is jewish and not stupid either.
It's astonishing to me that so many people can't see Michael Moore for what he is.
When I first heard of him I thought he was a clever guy who had something worthwhile to say.After looking more carefully at his work, I found him to be dishonest and a cheap propagandist,willing to manipulate facts and scenes in order to score political points.
But he is so popular..so immensley popular...I have to wonder why?What is it with him? Has he become a folk hero....fighting for the little guy against the corrupt establishment.....? What exactly is his appeal? Why are his faults so completely overlooked by so many?
I just don't get it.

For the same reason many right-wingers flock to arch conservative republican positions - they are simple, straightforward, and aim to solve complex problems with easy solutions.

Want to help the economy? Just lower taxes on cxorporations.

Fix the public schools? Add vouchers.

I am not agreeing or disagreeing with these points, just trying to explain that those who come along - sometimes in the form of religious cult leaders, for instance - and offer simplistic solutions to difficult problems will always have an audience.

The media portrayal of this human feces, much like their manipulation of the arab-israeli conflict, is painfully one-sided. B/c so much of the media is excessively leftist, they provide him with plenty of breathless fawning coverage.

Since most of those in journalism (and universities) are simply frustrated that people on wall street and business endeavors make so much more than they do, the leftist path that rails against bush and the business world is their wayof getting even.

If you ask most people on wall street they will say they are republican, as many of them worked their a--es off to get where they are in very unpleasant jobs for very unpleasant people. They werent given anything, they strived and paid their dues to get to their $500,000/year bond sales jobs. The people who make up the media will never come close to those types of salaries, so out of resentment they will attack the repub party as it stands behind the wealthy/strivers.

Moore gives another voice to those who havent succeeded, a place to blame - its bush and his minions "holding them down." We have all seen and heard it before, whatever whining group claiming they have been victimised somehow.

Moore is a passing flavor of the minute, and when he does vanish i will be happy. But there will always be someone to take his place, if not able to completely fill his extremely fat frame.
