We will never forget the people from all over the world that helped us. We showed our gratitude in many ways . Ask any Kuwaiti and he will tell you the same.
But, if you think that being grateful means keeping our mouths shut when we see crimes that are being committed in front of our eyes.. then you are wrong ! wherever those crimes are .. in Israel, Kosovo, Chechnya , India, Iraq or even Zimbabwi.. I'm not talking as a Kuwaiti or Arab ... I'm talking here as a human being, just like you and just like those 12th graders.. |

Almond,
I know you must be completely shocked by the concept of free speech and that in Israel even high-school kids are free to disagree with their government. When do you think that people in your own country and in other Arab countries will have the same rights to speak against government policy? Do you think there is a chance that people in Arafatistan will ever be able to speak out against terrorism? |

What you fail to recognize and this is emblematic of the failure of the Palestinians to make any progress at all is that if the Palestinians have ever embarked on a civil rights program instead of a kill all the jews program they'd be further along than they are now. Is it ironic tha the peace movement comes from within Israel and not the PLO? I think it might be.
So you have to ask yourself. When violence fails, why not try civil rights? |

The propaganda Sharon and the IDA is trying to spread about fighting terrorism isn't convincing those 12th graders, so how do you expect it to convince any grownup with a good mental health?? Well, so far, those 12th graders and other army-refusers account for a fraction of a percent of the population, although they are welcome (and even encouraged) to think freely in a free society. Maybe you and other Arabs like to dismiss the Palestinian suicide-massacres of innocent Israelis as "propaganda," but you and I both know better than that. But you know, I asked you a good question about when any dissenters in Arab society will have the chance to speak out against their leaders' policies, like those Israeli high-school kids are free to do. |
