I've heard of all of them. I don't like Nicki Minaj much, but mainly because her name sounds like minge. No thanks.

But then, we have radio one on in the office all day every day, so I hear most of the charts and popular music on a regular basis. I can't tell you how nice it is when they get a new playlist every couple of weeks.

That's one of the ones on that list I've never heard of. From your description, I'm kind of glad I haven't too.

The paper bag that comes with her. I dislike her too, moreso because my Sister loves her and basically she has a horrendous taste in music.

14 too. Likes all that kind of music, Gaga, Nicky Minaj, Rhianna etc. Weirdly she hates Katy Perry.

Haha, embedded video didn't work so had to watch it via the YouTube site. None the less it was such a bizzare death, loved it.

Really? :P the majority of it is awful in my opinion. What happened to the good old days where Rock bands and true musicians were making the charts?

The good thing is it keeps Neil Diamond out of the charts.

I'm pretty sure that in every generation, people say 'what happened to the days when real music was in the charts? What's this rubbish I'm listening to?'

They said it about rock bands, about the Beatles and Elvis... you can't define a true musician by the same standards these as you could 20 years ago, or thirty years ago, or fifty. For all we know, Lady Gaga could be as long-lasting and influential as Madonna was.

It depends on what the market's attitude is towards her, demographs and all that. At the moment she's appealing to the teenage girls which is the aim with most female singers and they are buying their songs, merchandise etc which is important demographically wise. She's successful because while I wouldn't call her a great singer, she knows what she's doing, as do her bosses, marketing wise. So again while I don't see her as being as successful as Madonna was and still is, she might be around for a long while.

I reckon she's got a great chance to become bigger than Madonna, reason being that Madonna doesn't have much left in the tank, where as Gaga still has like 10-20 years if things go to plan, and sadly the music following nowadays is bigger than ever with kids as young as 10 listening to her music.

Coming from a country pop viewpoint - I'm surprised Taylor Swift isn't on top.

I get the impression Taylor Swift is far more popular in the States than over here.
