This might be a repeat of something I posted before.
If so then screw ya ![]() Back in the late 70's and early 80's I was pretty adventurous. I would go to concerts by myself in some places that lets say it was not wise to do so alone. Back around 1980 give or take a year I really liked the music that Iggy Pop had done with David Bowie. I went to 3 concerts. One was with others and it had a sizable crowd. Another was at an ice rink that maybe had 500 or so that it could seat. The best one though was at a little dinky night club. Just your average bar but a tad bigger to allow music and dancing. Now this place was not where one should go let alone go alone. But the allure was too great. I think at best it might have accommodated 200 people give or take. The place was packed. I had a Trans Am and parked it on the main street a couple blocks away. Ah yes the stupidity of youth. But the car was there went I went back to it. Anyhow at this concert he played a song at or near the end that was something that blew me away. Ok, so a couple a beers and a joint did not hurt either. ![]() I knew this song. It was an old classic. It drove me nuts for years trying to figure out what it was and then to find his version of it. I was watching a movie where Ray Liotta played Sinatra and they used this in the closing credits. It was a Sinatra classic. I know that I have bored the shit out of any who read this thus far but this video of Iggy doing it does not do justice to just how good he did it. This clip is almost identical to the bar I saw him perform the song in. Carry on.. I be bored and sick with a cold. Ignore this if you hate Iggy. I did not like his old music but after 1980 or so became a fan of many of his songs. plus his roots are in the area http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x35...-my-baby_music |

Was never a HUGE fan of their music, and I HATED that Radio Ga Ga song, but along I went. Best concert EVER.....and I surprised myself by standing up and Pumping my fists and singing along even to Radio Ga Ga....I just couldnt help it. Iggy is awesome. ![]() |

I was a huge, huge fan of Bowie back in the early mid 70's
I saw his first tour as the Thin White Duke at The Olympia which was the Hockey Arena the Detroit Red Wings played at for ages. You had to mail in for the chance to get a ticket. I sent a little noet kind of begging for a seat. I got a pair of tickets on the main floor center about 20 rows from the stage. They were perfect seats as they were just behind the morons who had to stand all the time. It had to be in my top five concerts for sure. I think ![]() |

I saw him on his Serious moonlight tour at the Sydney Showground....in 1983. I was slightly innebriated, and probably high too.
![]() my best concert moment was Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy picking me out from the crowd and shining the mirror from his guitar into my eyes.....he did it quite a few times, and my boyfriend I was with was getting totally pissed off. It wasnt my imagination either. WIsh he hadnt been there ![]() ![]() |

Doctor and the Medics at Harlow bandstand in the pouring rain a few years ago to a couple of hundred people in the crowd. Was a great laugh, everyone was into it. They knew everyone was just there for Spirit it the sky so just filled in with a load of rock and roll covers teasing the crowd about now being able to play Spirit in the sky because one of the guitarists strings broke three times and they claimed they didn't have any more. Also they had a huge blow up Dalek on stage which they were dry humping.
