Default Depeche Mode
I saw Bru's sig and it reminded me - I am going to see Depeche Mode this weekend in Dallas!

Ok so I am not a real fan, but my roommate is. I got the tickets for him for his birthday.

BURNT! i just realized you can help me!

I need a hotel close to the superpages stadium place (Where the concert is) because there won't be any parking!

So I was thinking of staying close to there and walking or taking a short taxi.

How are the taxis in dallas? or in that part of dallas? is the neighborhood around there bad?

Is it practical to drive around downtown? Like if I want to do something Saturday? and how is the aquarium there?

They keep chaning the name of that outdoor venue. Superpages? That sucks and yes, so does the neighborhood.
Seriously, walking is not an option. It's the worst part of Dallas. It's safe inside but not out on the streets.
Dallas is a realtively safe city but not in Fair Park. That's what they call it, Fair Park, which is kind of ironic, because nobody has fair skin there and it's no fucking place to park your car.
Taxis are ok in Dallas but you have to find them, they aren't looking for you.
It's very practical to drive around downtown, that's the only way I'd do it.
I wouldn't even mind being your chaffeur if it wasn't for the fact that my wife would most certainly protest.
Oh and the aquarium, they redid it and it's still the same thing. Fish in cages.

lol - fish in cages! My roommate really wants to go to one, but I think the one in nola is better....

ok so then I am stumped, but I will figure it out. I am a traveling fool.

Thats sweet of you to offer to be my chaffeur, but I am going to be there like one day so I am sure I will get around as much as needed.

I may drive down to the Superpages place and find a place to park - I got car insurance so oh well right? I am going to be with one big mean looking dude so I don't think anyone will mess with us, but then again maybe they will because he is a big dude?

I think we may just find a cheap motel 8 or whatever and stay there. Drive around Saturday - that kind of thing...I am only worried about getting to the concert.

You'll be fine as long as you're with a big mean looking dude.
The locals will think it's Kelly Clarkson and back off.

Your in for one awesome show. I saw them back in 99. Minimalistic set and great music.

It was a good show, except most people were too hot to dance. The air conditioning went out and it got so hot I thought I was going to pass out.

But Dallas was good! The aquarium was cool, but I don't think worth $20/person.

I got in a fight with a cabbie, but then reported him. Who's gonna be fired now?! JACKASS cabbie!

Glad you had a good time. Yeah, Aquarium prices tend to be a little overblown in my opinion. Here general admission to the aquarium on a discounted ticket is $14... and yet regular admission to the Zoo (which has ALOT more to see and do) is only $9.

I was a MASSIVE Mode fan till the mid 90's (roughly) when Alan Wilder left. Their 101 Live film and CD was incredible

I gotta say that did diminish them just a little bit. Many bands seem to loose their binding when even a non critical member of the band leaves.
