Default CMD's Essential CD's 1: CLassic Rock
I posted these on other boards I used to mod/post at. Figured Id bring a few here to cure office boredom I am currently suffering.

So....without further ado, here are 5 of my fave classic rock CD's.

Boston
self titled:
Originally released: 1976

Now, everyone knows Boston, and although its commercial rock so to speak, this has got to be one of the greatest debut albums, ever. The sound itself sounds either like its live, or that it was taken in one day. Thats whats good about alot of these cd's is they sound good yet raw and not ultra-produced and mixed. From open to end you'll know the majority of the songs, and have a good time jamming out to them.
Standout tracks- "More Than a Feeling", "Foreplay/Long Time", "Smokin", "Hitch a Ride", and of course "Let Me Take you Home Tonight"

Rolling Stones
Let It Bleed
Originally Released: 1969

They're old now, but they have one hell of a discography, and this one is one of my favorites. I got to see them live due to winning tix off the radio, and I wasnt that big of a fan before I saw them, and even at the age they are (and they were still old 10 years ago when I saw them) one of the best live acts I ever seen. As an album Its def one of the ones that have the most flexibility, as the songs dont have the same sound or feel to them from track to track. Also side note, Brian Jones (Guitarist) Died the same day they finished recording. Creepy.
Standout tracks-"Gimme Shelter", "Let it Bleed", "Mokey Man" and "You Cant Always Get What You Want"

Led Zeppelin
Self Titled
Originally Released-1969

Often referred to as "Led Zeppelin 1", this cd is another awesome debut CD. Alot of the metal friendly Zep fans might not pick this one, since its alot more blues driven so to speak, but it def has some of there best songs, and my favorite one to listen to from beginning to end.
Standout Tracks- "Good Times Bad Times", "Babe Im Gonna Leave You", "Dazed and Confused", Communication Breakdown", and "How Many More Times".

The Who
Whos Next?
Originally released-1971

The Who is without question my favorite classic rock band period. Most Who fans argue between this CD and Tommy as their best (and some cite Quadrophenia as well) This is my fave because its more of a classic rock sound, less than the older "Fresh off the British Invasion" or pshycadelic/folky sounds they had on previous albums. (Not that those are Bad....)
Standout tracks- "Baba O'Reily" (aka Teenage Wasteland), "Love Aint For Keeping", "My Wife", "The Song is Over", "Behind Blue Eyes", and "Wont Get Fooled Again"

Van Halen
Self Titled
Originally Released- 1978

Now, most people consider VH 80's/90's crap, and once Haggar took over in the late 80's they're right. But the first 5 under Mr. David Lee Roth are great CD's. Another great debut album, this one alot like Bostons has a very underproduced-yet-still-clean sound to it, and has alot of classics.
Standout tracks- "Runnin With The Devil". "Eruption"(One of the greatest guitar pieces ever) "Aint Talkin Bout Love", "Atomic Punk", and "Ice Cream Man"
