I recently finished studying this book and found it extremely interesting. For anybody who is music-obsessed like I'm (and who isn't, really,) it's an amazing study. I've perhaps not read any books similar to this, and wonder if other things enjoy it exists. It established numerous things that I've observed through hearing, playing and teaching over time, and made me question about still more things. I really do take issue with several things here and there. I've many ideas, but limited time at-the moment; hopefully I'll return with them quickly (wrote them down for later.) One fast thought for now; he doesn't seem to be a lover of modern traditional music; he promises that it ''deconstructs equilibrium, tune and rhythm'' yet makes no reference to timbre, which he takes good steps to highlight to be significant earlier in-the book. Seems strange he must ignore it in cases like this. Hmm. Feel free, if anybody has ideas to share with you!
