Default last.fm
This morning I downloaded an MP3 album from Amazon and played it through. last.fm was open but not playing, since then I have restarted last.fm playing and lo and behold, it's played 3 tracks from the album plus another by the same artist.

Just as well it's an arist I like!! It would seem that it monitors what you play and if it has tracks by the artist (or composer for some classical works) then it adds them to your library for streaming.

Shades of Big Bruvver's watchin' ya!! Does Spotify do this too?

Re Spotify, I heard on another forum that Spotify has introduced limits on their free service as from May 1st, now 10 hours per month, and a maximum of 5 plays of any track (in total, not per month)

I sometimes have last.fm on for 14 hours a day (a separate PC is connected to a Technics amp driving KEF speakers) it's my main listening source, I'm contemplating adding some remote speakers so I can continue to listen in other rooms.

Thats correct Mike. I tend to use spotify for sampling music so its not so bad for me. I suppose these things are inevitable. Once something becomes popular enough the price goes up.
