Wow! what a weekend!!!

Friday

Throwdown - Generic, boring and not really enjoyed - 4/10

Soil - Generic, but more entertaining - 7/10

Strapping Young LAd - Devin is absolutely hillarious as a frontman, worked the crowd well, and though i didn't really like the music as a majority, they were great to watch - 6/10

Soulfly - Band of the day by a running mile for me. Tight, intense and just damn fun to watch. Max sounded frikkin' awesome, and the 'cover' of Roots was amazing... Want to see again! 9.5/10

Coheed and Cambria - For 25 minutes they were brilliant, really enjoyed Welcome home... but WTF was the last 20 minutes about?! I fell asleep standing up! Some jazz like improv that was really dull and boring after 5 minutes... walked off to silence! - 5/10

Atreyu - Good, very good sound, but a bit one trick pony... glad i got to see them play right side of the bed tho - 6/10

Ginger - Was good for 10 minutes but then i got really bored - 4/10

Saturday

Bloodsimple - Lovethem recorded - Dire on this day! Sound was awful and the singer did himself no favours! - 2/10

Arch Enemy - Not my thing at all, but sounded damn good to give them their due! - 5/10

Alice In Chains - Sounded really good, but i got a load of dust in my eye and couldn't see - so i left about 10 minutes in

Stone Sour - Love the old stuff, love the new stuff i heard too...Corey Taylor has an awesome voice and is a top frontman as well - Can't wait for the album - 8/10

Avenged Sevenfold - They actually have it all i think. The songs are catchy, the guitar and vocal harmonies, the atmosphere they recieved, the presence, the interaction.... and a blinding cover of Pantera's Walk!!! Joint Band of the day/weekend! - 10/10

Met Avenged Sevenfold coz Katie wanted to kidnap M Shadows (Singer). From the queue i heard Trivium who sounded dire! Heard the Korn set with guest singers - sounded cool, would of like to of seen!

Metallica - Throughly enjoyed the set... played all my favourites, including my fav metallica album! The new song sounded pretty cool as well, and dragging a load of the other bands at the end to cover Die Die Die My Darling i felt was a great end to a great day. Joint band of the day/Weekend - 10/10

Sunday

Dragonforce - Sonded dire, didnt pull it off live - However f*ucking awesome guitarists! - 4/10

36 Crazyfists - Fan-bloody-tastic! Singer really got it going, played a lot of my favourite tracks, and i got the new album!!! Top set - 9/10

In Flames - They made a fan out of me - Best band of the day, great songs and a great sound to match!!! 10/10 - Band of the day!

Lacuna Coil - Yea she is damn hot!!! The band are good too, found em a bit boring tho! - 6/10

Blindside - Really enjoyed listening to their recorded stuff. Felt the live show didn't quite live to the promise, something just lacked from them overall, but i was diggin' it none the less - 8/10

Bullet For My Valentine - I liked them, enjoyed the songs, and thought they were a very good live act, tho Matt Tuck needs to accept he is Welsh and stop talking with an American accent! - 8/10

Funeral For A friend - I always find these a bit meh, but i felt they were really on form, a big improvement on their show last year! Shame most of the 70,000+ were trying to get in the tent for The Prodigy - meaning they played to a very small crowd! - 8/10

G 'n' R - Welcome to the Jungle as an opening track was absolutely amazing! Played a few more songs, at this point 10/10 ... but then it happened... Axl wasn't happy and threw the toys out!!! Pissed me off a bit that he did it and left his guitarist Bumbelfoot to entertain a very aggitated crowd! Came back out and couple of songs later bassist throws toys out coz he gets hit with a bottle, or nearly hit, threating to leave - really pissed me off again, as it did a lot of people! This point 2/10... Come back again and play some new stuff, which i thought sounded really good, defo will be getting Chinese Democracy, if it actually ever does come out! we have all been waiting long enough! Finished on Paradise City which was 6 minutes of sheer awesomeness! - 7/10

Summary

Band of the day
Friday - Soulfly
Saturday - Metallica and avenged Sevenfold
Sunday - In Flames

Band of the weekend - Metallica and Avenged sevenfold

Best Live Song of the weekend - Paradise City - Guns n Roses

-----------------

Can't believe that Axl said 'i want to go home, but they wouldn't let me say that an hour ago' . The fact is there are thousands...no millions of bands who would give everything to have the prestige GNR have, and to headline a Donnington stage, and thats how he shows respect to people who put him where he is - its an insult!
