Uh, do they have to be alive?

Lead Vocals:Mick Jagger. Duh, is it necessary to say anymore? Listen to Paint It Black and you'll agree with me.
Vocals/Keyboard: Matt Bellamy (Muse)
No-ones got a voice like Matt Bellamy. Quite simply, he's the best singer alive, and argueably in history. And he happens to be amazing on the keyboard too.
Lead Guitar: Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)
Quite simply the best guitarist of all time. I figure he should make his way in, somewhere.
Rythum/Lead Guitar: Jimi Hendrix
Personly I prefer his solos to Page's, but overall Page is the better guitarist. Still, a dream band would never be complete without Hendrix, in some shape or form.
Bassest: Paul McCartney (The Beatles)
Ok, this is getting ridiculous now. Maybe I should lay off the talent? If all these guys were even in the same room they'd explode from the talent. Paul is my favourate bassist ever.
Drummer: Michael Giles (King Crimson)
Alright, I have no idea who this guy is, but the drumming on "In The Court Of The Crimson King" is the best drumming ever. So he's in.
Song Writer: David Bowie!!!
The best song writer...musician ever. David Bowie is so much better than everyone else it just isn't funny sometimes. Who better to write the songs?

I'm sorry, but that band would kick every other possible conbination of bands possible all over the moon. Merely having Hendrix, Page and Bowie in a band is ridciulous. Mind, at least one of these people is dead (I dunno about the King Crimson drummer, because...well, he's a drummer!)

Anyway. Best. Band. EVA!!!111!11

Vocals: Chris Cornell (Audioslave)
Guitarist: Mark Knopfler
Bassist: Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers)
Drums: Dave Grohl (Various)

I've gone for the classic quartet there, none of this special effects nonsense or multiple guitarists

Edit: Oh, and that was a hell of a selection Davion
