Plus Burton was cremated not buried so he can't roll in his grave. And whos to say that he wouldn't of approved of Metallica's direction from the Black Album onwards? People always assume Cliff would be against it.

That's old, I don't like it at all and think it's horrible but I listen to Metallica for the music and the shirt won't change my judgement on their songs.

Wow that is the worst shirt I have ever seen. It hurts my head attempting to understand why they would want a shirt like that.

No, I personally don't care because I only listen to their music from the pre-Black Album era anyway.

Yo~

Sorry, I didn't know it was old, seeing as I have nothing to do with Hot Topic. Someone posted it at a music forum I go to.

People always assume Cliff would be against it. It was symbolic over being exact (buried, cremated- the man's still dead) and yeah, I was talking about Cliff Burton. I don't know Cliff's opinion for sure, but when you look when he was with the band, the music was different than it is now. So obviously, Metallica's music we are treated to now isn't from Cliff's vision when he was alive because when he was alive- the music sounded a whole hell of a lot different (and better in my opinion).

And I said he "is rolling over in his grave now" because I heard Metallica off some interview say they would never 'sell out' and become mainstream. And with the shirt, uhh...that solidifies Metallica as a mainstream band because Spongebob Squarepants is something of an icon-like cartoon that's all over mainstream U.S.A.

I'm not a huge fan of metallica, but this is the worst thing i've ever seen. i almost puked when i saw it.

Offtopic: anybody else like to sit outisde store like hot topic and pac sun and laugh at idiots as they come in and out? it's like $50 for a fuckin shirt tools....
I think anyone that goes to the mall to hang out or any place meant to be shopped at just to do nothing at are pretty lame.

And to go sit outside a store you dislike to laugh at the people that shop there is even more pathetic- get a fuckin' job or something, damn. the future of America ):

Meh I still love Metallica, and have a huge ammount of respect for them, I'm not gonna dissown them because they want to target young kids. Their all really cool guys...they may be a little hypocritical...seeing as their headlining a tour called "Download Fest"...

Metallica are one of my favorite bands, and always will, plus Spongebob does look awful cool on that shirt...

Ele: Nice banner man...Mustaine rules!!

And Veno, Pac Sun has some kick-ass swimsuits (the other stuff is crap though). The killer designs make up for the over-priced shirts and hats.

That sad pathetic shirt came out like four months ago, they now have it in baby shirts and onesies (or whatever it's called).

I was never a Metallica fan, and this is nothing to help. How can you take this band seriously when they support the stupid ass sponge. That should be their mascot on stage like all the other '70s and '80s rock and metal bands had.
