During a program director meeting in Chicago, a lot of emotions flew about Jamey Rodmeyer’s suicide. He is yet another gay teen who killed himself due to bullying. However, several people in the meeting were upset that Lady Gaga had hijacked the incident in order to bring attention to herself. Lady Gaga has tweeted that she wants to meet with President Obama to discuss making calling people bad names illegal.
“I find it really funny that after Lady Gaga’s Born This Way album took another deep tumble down the charts and her 'You and I' single failed to make any waves, she is now pulling her gay rights cap on again. She needs to stay out of this. Trying to use this event to save her career is just tasteless,” says program director Jared Spelling. Some program and music directors noted that Lady Gaga is the last person who should speak out about bullying since she allegedly pocketed money that was supposed to go for Japanese earthquake victims and used the word “retard” to describe Madonna fans who accused her of ripping off the song “Express Yourself.” It is also alleged that Lady Gaga and her record company helped sabotage Christina Aguilera’s career. "If Lady Gaga truly cared about Jamey, she would help make people aware of resources that gay and lesbian teenagers have available. But then it wouldn't be about her, would it?" says Suicide Hotline worker Norma Ruiz. http://www.examiner.com/pop-music-in...ledgling-album |
