I know there have probably been many questions asked about meditation, so please excuse me if I am doubling up. When I meditate I generally manage to get myself into a peaceful trance like state, I feel my whole body tingling and vibrating and often get words or ideas come to me. The issue that I have is instead of feeling blissful and invigorated by this process, I generally come out of the meditation feeling like I want to go to sleep. Is this normal? Does anyone else experience this?

Meditation is a difficult thing to do
I have had a runny nose, yawning Feeling sleepy and light headed The mind racing from one thing to another I would put them down to distractions If you stick at meditation long enough All these distractions will just slip away They are like your body fighting the peace In time you can retrain your body/mind And the peace you seek arrives at your door When it does arrive it really is a revelation Slipping into to a meditation with distractions |

Try only doing your meditation when you get up in the morning. Shower and then take time to do your meditation. Sitting upright in a chair. Feet flat on the floor.
Also remember after your meditation to ground your energy. You pick up and increase your energy when you meditate, this may be causing issues for you. http://mediumlauraevans.podomatic.co...12_41_51-08_00 This is an audio version of how to ground. |

Thank you both for your ideas.
It doesn't matter what time of day, or how tired or awake I am before I meditate, I seem to end up feeling shattered afterwards, like I just want to go to bed and sleep for hours. Hermit, I have wondered if it it an egoic distraction, my minds way of trying to put me off meditating. Cherie |

You may find that the problem is that you don't ground yourself after meditation. When you meditate, you change your vibrational level, and if you don't ground afterwards, you may find yourself feeling "out-of-sync."
Eating, hugging someone, going for a walk, or even going outside into the fresh air and literally touching the ground, can bring you back into sync with the physical realm. |

It's almost like being 'stuck between realms.'
You've changed your vibrational level in order to calm your mind and access higher realms, but your body remains in the normal realm. When you 'come back' your mind and your body are not synced up. The vibrational level of your mind just doesn't mesh with the vibrational level of your physical self, which leaves you feeling 'split' and what I call 'vague.' I hate feeling 'vague.' It's like I'm not really in my body, but just going through the motions of living. Once or twice I've tried driving home after a session when I was feeling 'vague' and I was so distant from the world that I'm amazed I didn't collide with another car. The act of doing something physical, like eating or exercising, brings you mentally back into your body and helps you 'sync up your parts' so that you don't feel shattered any longer. |
