greetings campers!
old threads never go away, they just get stored on dw's hard drive somewhere, something like 44 pages now, just under the general discussions heading; so rather than start a new one, thought i'd revive an "oldie" from last year, (page 42 or so) and make this a place where we can all share some good rockin', soul-stirrin' music and such. this might save some storage space, and give us all a place to share some good tunes, for those times when ya just might need one. oh, and as a response to the above posting, jan did make the trip, and spent a week with the rest of us space cadets traveling around the state of michigan in a 31ft. magic bus last summer, stopping off at a big hotel for a few days, but that's another story you'll never hear, 'cus the thread got closed! yeah, i'm over it... so let's start this concert off with hope that it never ends... (moderators welcome too) jammin' in janet's living room: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yheo_pmhqu eagles the last resort http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cij_rrjsuq0 [mods: here are other songs you can find on you-tube] hooters all you zombies moody blues lovely to see you again emerson, lake and palmer bob |

thanks, bob - you got me going on an odyssey of tear jerkin' oldies - first i played one, then along came another one, and on and on into the night. i used up a whole box of tissues (not really, but almost). that's why i tend to stay away from the music, it brings on floods of tears and emotions, i don't know, is that good?
i was taken to a korean neal diamond type concert, didn't understand a word, but music's international . when i read in some spiritual book that music was an actual language, i really really felt the truth of that. the john lennon video was proof how music can be a force in the spiritual revolution, the establishment was terrified of him - i didn't realize all that stuff happened, having run away to another country and stopped watching tv and listening to news. so, i'm out of touch, is there anybody out there to take his place? or is it just the aging dylans, diamonds etc.? loved that "talking about my generation," what a giggle. |

you're welcome, larissa- it's always nice to "give water" for a good cause, eh? as long as we can store it, share it, keep the "good stuff" alive and crankin', it's/he/them and their message are never really dead.
you can be sure tptb saw john lennon's power- and now-a-days, just listen to all the mind-numbing, hate-filled crap being pushed on the masses to see where they've taken it. but that's all a part of the big game going down right now, and we can always change the channel. but, and here's a little secret: yes, music can and does affect your emotions- both through the lyrics and the melodies. and this can affect/ raise your consciousness level, even bring you to tears, so rather than drowning in the effect, channel it by whatever means works for you. use it to create a thought-form, like a giant 50-giga-ton sub-atomic love bomb, and drop it on some person/place that really deserves it! or something. change the rules- often. sooner, or later, we may all figure a way off this prison planet- and i'd rather go off singing, and smilin', than in chains... here's an example: watch celine dion, accompanied by joe walsh (nice couple, eh?) and imagine that she is singing to her/your higher-self, or version of the highest ideal of god/christ consciousness, or whatever works for you, and see where it takes ya... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtiux...eature=related bob |

sit down by james
i sing myself to sleep a song from the darkest hour secrets i can’t keep inside of the day swing from high to deep extremes of sweet and sour hope that god exists i hope i pray drawn by the undertow my life is out of control i believe this wave will bear my weight so let it flow oh sit down oh sit down oh sit down sit down next to me sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down, down in sympathy now i’m relieved to hear that you’ve been to some far out places it’s hard to carry on when you feel all alone now i’ve swung back down again it’s worse than it was before if i hadn’t seen such riches i could live with being poor oh sit down oh sit down oh sit down sit down next to me sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down, down in sympathy those who feel the breath of sadness sit down next to me those who find they’re touched by madness sit down next to me those who find themselves ridiculous sit down next to me in love, in fear, in hate, in tears in love, in fear, in hate, in tears in love, in fear, in hate, in tears in love, in fear, in hate down down oh sit down oh sit down oh sit down sit down next to me sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down, down in sympathy oh sit down oh sit down oh sit down sit down next to me sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down, down in sympathy down |

hello robert. thanks for the retro visit to some of the music that came out in the 60"s.as someone raised in the 60"s and was part of that generation which exploded with creativity, i am still up for rocking in the new century. music is an integral part of my every day life and i am broad spectrum in my choices of music, as long as they are uplifting and inspirational to the human spirit. we are music and music is us. hope you will continue to follow your creativity, whereever it leads you.cheers bud!

bob ---it took me on another all night woodstock orgy is what it did, this time no tears just strong emotion - stop! enough already. that was a nice notion about planting a love bomb, but doesn't work for me. at least not like that.
like being told to send light to the planet to wherever it needs it, close your eyes, concentrate, let goooooooo........ok, ho hum, now what? i hate meditation! and i hate exercises and all that kind of stuff. been there, done that, no more, i'm off to something different. i love what you say about getting off this prison planet. reminds me of a time i got my mind blown during this healing with crystals course i was on years ago. i got handed a book chanelling the crystal skull, started reading it, then read this bit about this planet being the dumping ground for the galaxy's criminals and assorted riff raff, and now they were freaked out because this criminal population was about to blow everybody up so they had to send lots of light workers to try to stop the destruction. my world stopped for about 10 minutes, i couldn't move. i just knew it was the truth. something deep inside got really affected. in this same book it talked about music being a language. that resonated as well. that book really did me in. so in that sense, yes this planet is a prison, and we are either the criminal riff raff or lightworkers, take your pick. oh, yah, another thing it said is that artists like j joplin, hendrix, morrison, and probably lennon, were sent to speak to the earth inhabitants through the music language, to balance out the energies or whatever, and that they had difficulty with the heavy atmosphere here, and had to leave early because they couldn't handle it. too right! and that information doesn't conflict at all with the info that's going around now, in fact, it ties neatly in, i think. most everything i read or hear has a part to play in the whole picture, "take what you like and leave the rest" and the pieces of the puzzle are fitting in, bit by bit. a bit of mixed metaphoring... anyway, thanks bob, you're a gem. love, larissa |

hey, born 23eb thanks for sharing your thoughts. old rockers never die, they just loose some of their hearing, and maybe a little hair, but that fire inside still burns brightly. the great white north has contributed, greatly to this endeavor-

(note: i did not make the video) [and you can search for this one too] delerium - truly i hope these are a treat to everyone's ears ![]() - john [please limit music vdeos to 2 per post please ] |

i love music but apart from playing recorder and violin in elementary school and a few attempts at spoons at parties i have never been all that musically inclined.
yesterday while listening to music i was just in awe of what some of these artists can produce and was thinking about what it must be like to be an amazing musician, or artist. i think many of them have a direct link to the creator so to speak. anyways, i came home and last night read this (from a book on david's reading list) speaking about the "future". human individuals will not function in such cumbersome fashion as they do today. they will go about their tasks with the grace of dancers, performing to a music that each will hear on his or her own channel, the music of his or her own soul. through melodies, god will sustain each of his contextual identities in supreme fullfillment. specific melodies will change with each environment, with each movement, with each task.yet a consistent overall pattern of musical relationship will constitute the new identity of mankind. the song of the moment , will be what each individual is in that moment, translated into an ever changing musical score. music will be the informational medium through which the totality of consciousness informs each individual cell of its specific functional duties within the totality. individuals will participate in this music as well as listen to it. all humanity will be involved in conscious creation, immensely fulfilled in the capacities they serve. when an individual is not required in a functional capacity, he or she will be free to compose the score that will specify a route of musical travel within the body of creation so i may get the chance to experience what it's like to be a great composer. sounds like it could be fun. megan |

there comes a time
when we head a certain call when the world must come together as one there are people dying and it's time to lend a hand to life the greatest gift of all we can't go on pretending day by day that someone, somewhere will soon make a change we are all a part of god's great big family and the truth, you know love is all we need [chorus] we are the world we are the children we are the ones who make a brighter day so let's start giving there's a choice we're making we're saving our own lives it's true we'll make a better day just you and me send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares and their lives will be stronger and free as god has shown us by turning stone to bread so we all must lend a helping hand [chorus] we are the world we are the children we are the ones who make a brighter day so let's start giving there's a choice we're making we're saving our own lives it's true we'll make a better day just you and me when you're down and out there seems no hope at all but if you just believe there's no way we can fall well, well, well, well, let us realize that a change will only come when we stand together as one [chorus] we are the world we are the children we are the ones who make a brighter day so let's start giving there's a choice we're making we're saving our own lives it's true we'll make a better day just you and me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmxt2...eature=related |
