Default Your very first Paranormal/Psychic Experience
Greysfan posted a wonderful thread asking to share our experiences with passed loved ones and guides. Reading through some of the awesome experiences there it got me thinking about my first experience and the journey it sort of lead me on which I will share here. I would love to know what yours was too, what was your first experience and where did it lead you?

I was five years old when I went to sleep one night and had a horrific nightmare. A flash of a man stabbing a young woman to death. And then flashes of his face. I woke up in absolute terror and my mother tried to calm me down, I told her every gory detail. This is during a time where my mother was more accepting of paranormal and psychic gifts. Although she didnt think it was any more than a dream she consoled me and I went on to school. When I got home later that afternoon, I saw the newspaper laying scattered on the kitchen table. On one of the pages facing up, I saw the womans picture...the same woman I saw in my dream. I told my mother that was the woman I saw in my dream and she told me that the woman was actually missing. I told my mother that she wasnt missing that she was dead and that the man in my dream killed her. So my mother asked me to draw the picture of the man...I can remember him exactly even to this day. He was bald with bushy black eyebrows and big dark eyes. I drew my mom the picture and life went on as usual...sort of forgetting about the dream.

I dont remember the time frame....but sometime later I was watching television with my mom and some of her friends when the news came on. The headlines were that they caught the killer of the woman and his face was plastered on tv. I jumped up "mom, thats him...thats the man that killed the woman in my dream" my mother ran and got the picture and well...lets just say the likeness was eerie.

My mother didnt tell me, I suppose to protect me that this woman was found murdered-stabbed to death...and they had believed she had been murdered the same night as my dream. That dream opened up a new world for me and as a child and teenager...I can remember I would have moments where I was totally exhausted and when I would give in fall asleep I would have another psychic dream. I spent my teen years learning about dream intrepretation.

This seems so petty and small to bring up, but when I was in high school I walked into a popular hangout, looked at ones of my friends and just knew she was sleeping with my boyfriend. She lied and said it wasn't true, but I found out a few months later that they really were sleeping together.

It didn't start me on my spiritual path because I let everyone convince me that I was being paranoid, but that was my first psychic experience.

Wow! "Dawnie" I like your story, it's like watching "Medium" hehe

Noel, that is called intuition. It's great to feel that sense that you know something without knowing how. Maybe you had experiences when you were a kid, try to remember more or ask your close relatives

----
My first experience with this stuff was when I was about 3. At night when I went to sleep I woke up crying and telling my mom there was a horrible guy (with a dark aura around him) stuck to the ceiling staring at me, and she always said "It was a dream, don't worry" to try to calm me down. But she always knew it was real, she has seen many more ghosts than me.

My mom says it was scary for her lol because sometimes I talked with my eyes either closed and open and wouldn't blink at all. My grandma says it most happened when I had fever or when I was sick since I had to be in bed. As a kid, being sick was like a normal state lol so....

Look forward to others stories

My first that I can remember was my grandmother's spirit. I believe I have already posted it in another area so I won't reiterate it here.

Another time was when I went into Home Depot with my ex and I could see spirits, hundreds of them. Hovering around people, some had 2, some had more. I was overwhelmed because I had not yet learned boundaries and protection.

I was in line, hiding my face and hoping to get out of the store quickly when I saw to small children dancing around the man in front of me. Before I could stop myself I asked "Excuse me, do you have 2 children?" He said "No." but seemed a bit sad. "Well I just wanted to tell you that a boy about 4 and a girl about 7 are dancing around your feet. I see things that some people don't." The cashier and the man stared at me. "I lost my children in a car accident two years ago..... she was 7 and he was 4." with that the cashier's mouth fell open and the man ran out of the store. I never said anything in public again. It embarrassed me and my husband was not too happy that I had just embarrassed him as well.

Villani- its funny you say that because many of my experiences are very much like those in the show Medium. I never really watched the show until a couple months ago and it intrigued me greatly because of her experiences...now its off the air...ha ha of course, right? I have always considered myself more of an intuitive because I can feel spirit energy now in my adulthood instead of "see" them like I did as a child. I used to tease and call my myself a dream Medium...but that is probably more factual than kidding. Also just so you know...my grandmother used to call me "Dawnie" hmmm...did you tap into something there? I think it is profound that we remember these events at a such a small age. I was a sickly kid too...and had some bizarre experiences when I was sick. Do you still see spirits?

PaganMedium: I am always blown away when reading some of your experiences and reading this story kind of took my breath away and even made me tear up a little. I am sorry your ex wasnt supportive... and am glad you have the support you need now. Your experiences that you share are so valued amongst the rest of learning how to cope and figure it out.

Thank you both for sharing!

I too liked you story Laura Hope people grow up faster and accept there are plenty of things and beings we are not aware of.

"Dawnie" I didn't know that about your grandma and you. I don't feel I picked up on that... maybe she's trying to let you know she's often near you by making me call you "Dawnie"

Is it possible that being sick as kids could be due to ghosts draining our energy? Of course when it is rare and coming out of no where hehe.

I don't see ghosts with my periferical vision anymore as you and I used to see before so clearly. I feel them as you do, and also ¿Have you seen "It's so Raven"? ... my eyes go like hers sometimes lol lol lol and stare at something but just see energy not people neither colors. I bet you too have felt this!

The show Medium is fun. You could work for the police hehe or finding missing people

My "first" was just after my mom died, i was about 10, it was about 3am and i could clearly hear her calling me, I searched the house and obviously found nothing. As i was falling asleep I could hear again. She had a way of saying my name... she had a strong German accent so it was unmistakable...

There were times before that when my dad was playing games with my brothers like roulette or trivial pursuit (at the time i was about 6 and couldnt even read yet) and i would get the answers right. That scared them

Oh my gosh Dawn, I can't imagine how scary that must have been to experience all that at such a young age. It's so eerie yet amazingly accurate.

Wow! You have all inspired me to share! Haha I started to think back about my first experience reading all of yours. For years my dad use to work overseas in Russia in the oil fields of Siberia. I remember the christmas when I was 6 years old. My dad wasn't going to be home so we whent to spend Christmas on my grand parents farm. The night of Christmas eve I had a dream that my sisters and I got up Christmas morning to open our stockings and sitting on the couch in the livingroom was my dad! The next morning when I woke up and my sisters and I whent to the living room it was like dajavu(?) because there was dad waiting on the couch! Later that day I was laying on the couch with dad and I had td him I had a dream about him coming home. I can't remember what he said to me I just remember feeling happy that he believed me.
Dad has always been very open when I tell him things and I think it's because when he was in his teens he almost died. He had an out of body experience. Although he doesn't talk much about it...

That is the sweetest story I can relate, I was a huge daddys girl, still am even though I don't admit it as much! Sometimes I would even have dreams about my father giving me advice on problems when I was younger(still being alive) and didn't get to be around him as much, and the advice was always something he'd say haha, though it was problems I couldn't resonate with at the time. Its awesome that your dad was open about it. I think my dad would get me committed if I mentioned anything remotely spiritual to him LOL
Though, not because hes against the idea of things related to this, it is because growing up I was a dreamer and not very realistic at all, so I'd always mention out-of-this-world crazy ideas and be dead-serious about them, and I still have those episodes, so he's gotten to the point where he's sort of like, ''Oh here we go again''

I am in awe of your accounts, and although I'm not sure which was my first experience due to being so young, I'll do an explanation. One, where I lived was surrounded by factories and the houses were victorian with toilets at the far end of a large yard. At about five years old I had gone there accompanied by our neighbours small dog. I had only just closed the door when I realised that someone was also in the that wasn't a moment before. I turned to find a person about the same height as me... Pure white skin, large blue eyes and whisps of white shoulder length hair looking at me. A moment later I heard the dog growling and barking and I was trying to squeeze passed. I ran up the yard with the dog snarling a barking at my heels back to the house.
I don't know who this little person was, but looking back I know I wasn't scared at first until I heard the dog going mad and scratching under the door.

Forgot to add the second... Although it may have been the first lol.
Across our street was a pub, the actual building was from the 1500s and much of it is still as it was.
The daughter of the landlord was in my class at infant school and we were playing with our dolls on the rug in her bedroom in front of a stone Tudor fireplace.
A rocking chair placed just to one side started rocking suddenly for a while and then stopped just as suddenly. After looking at it for a moment longer we just looked at each other, shrugged and carried on playing. It was only years later that I look back and wonder at how strange it was.

I must say that I've had several paranormal encounters at this pub over the years as it is a very haunted pub. We moved house when I was six, so both these events took place before then.
