Ok so for the past several months I have been hearing a cat crying. I have two cats...and would go and check them and they would be sleeping or doing something other than crying. It had been really boggling my mind.

So last night, I was meditating outside under the bright light of the full moon. I felt is was a magical night and would be a great time to contact my guides. Five minutes into meditation I kept hearing this shuffling in the grass and then a loud bang on the ground. Making sure there wasn't a person creeping up on me I broke out of meditation and checked the situation.

There was nobody there but the energy in the air was fierce. So, I have been seeing spirits in my dreams and in meditation, so I thought maybe there was someone in the spirit world trying to get my attention and I would finally "see". I stepped out into the grass and stated hello (thank God I am the only one living in my stretch of townhomes right now..ha ha) is anyone there? There was no answer but I thought I saw a whitish shadow on my right and a darker shadow in my left perifereal vision. I kept turning back and forth and these shadows would disappear.

I turned to go back in the door and I remembered my guide walking away from me in a meditation and it very much felt like that so I decided to turn back around and try it again. "Hello, is anyone here? Do you have a message for me?"

We have a pond out back. It is about 200 yards to the left of my units. I saw what looked like a cat come out of the pond run across the grass and hide in the bushes in the next row of townhomes. It was black and a little bigger than a cat so it kind of scared me because I wasn't sure what animal this really was...until it started meowing.

I kept calling to it and keeping my vision on the area it ran to. Thought maybe a cat was in trouble. It kept meowing.

Hesitantly, I walked over to the area...and there was nothing there. I checked all the bushes and the area around it. And it was pretty light because of the moonlight. My son came out to help me look for it. Nothing.

I think this was the spirit of a cat. Especially since he came out of the pond and then was gone when I walked over to him. So, what would be the purpose of me seeing a spirit of a cat? Could I be an animal intuitive?

So I just found this. It basically states that cats are sometimes seen to help other animals when they pass and cross over. Hmmm. I do have an older cat and have been worried about him lately. His beathing has been very very heavy and I can hear him breath when he sleeps from one room to another. I also got this strange feeling that I shouldn't let my cats out back.

I think most likely it was a real cat. Most animals, whether predator or prey, are adept at appearing invisible when it suits them.

Thanks Thunderfoot, but no it wasn't and I have seen him again just last night and this time just after looking right at me he disappeared in front of my eyes.

Does anyone have any experience with spirit animals that could offer some clarification as to why he may be visiting?

Hi Dawn, Ive not really had any experience of spirit animals, but I would say that the cat is just coming back to a place that they loved and perhaps like your latter post he is there to be with your other cat to aid in the process or healing?

I'm going to say yes here. Though I have seen spirit animals, they are white when I see them. Try using your pendulum to truth test what you saw.

I saw it again last night and it disappeared in front of my eyes... it showed me exactly what it was and it was a spirit of a cat. And it was not white it was black but not like an evil black...just a black cat that was in spirit form

It's rare but tonight I've had an animal thing too. I couldn't saw it, but it was scratching a wall and the curtain was moving.... (unless it was a rat inside the wall hahahaha xD).

What could we do to help them? send them love?

Ok, so I know everyone is probably tired of hearing my cat story...but I can't help posting about it...

Friday night, I heard the cat meow again. I was walking out of my bedroom and into the living room when I heard him. My big kitty was sound asleep in my chair in my room and my little kitty was nibbling on her food. No neighbors...nobody leaving any cats behind....ran outside out back out front...no cats. I decided not to post in case you all thought I was going crazy lol.

Then tonight I was on the phone with my friend out front...when all of a sudden the black cat appeared again...in shadow form...and then disappeared. This has got to mean something, third sighting...any ideas?

In dreams a cat can mean a lot of things.. You say it showed up when your friend called... is this a real good friend? To see a cat in a dream is a metaphor for "cattiness" or someone who is "catty" and malicious. It can also be an omen that someone is "sneaking around" behind your back.

The other thing about cats is they represent the feminine aspect of you. It can mean that you are starting to become an independent spirit, embracing yourself as a female and learning to be more like the cat.

I can say honestly that both things are true.

My friend and I have been friends for twenty years or more...she has always kind of taken advantage of our friendship but I have always allowed it. We are growing apart as I am growing more spiritually. We no longer have those same common interests and I think the friendship is probably not really good for me right now. But I don't know how to sever a twenty year friendship. I think I am being selfish about it really. Like I want to let go but not really? Does that make any sense?

I am embracing my more feminine side as well. Many things are changing for me and I am delighting in my feminity right now..

Do you think this is possibly not so much a spirit as a guide or totem? I am not seeing or hearing the cat in dreams...I am fully awake.

When you see them like that... to me that's a warning. While I see my hawk during the day, she always warns me of thing.

I think your cat is telling you to drop this "friend" before trouble starts.

House cats can be omens. You want so bad to have them as a totem that you are ignoring the messages they are trying to bring you....

ohh..so this is my message my warning.

I didn't want to admit to this but I have been told by my guides in a dream that this relationship is not healthy for me and that my ties to her actually hurt my progress. We have been really good friends for a really long time. Experienced many many things together. Got each other through highs and lows in our lives. But now, our paths have changed. She is a highly materialistic person who is married to a very wealthy man that mentally abuses her. No matter what I do or say she wont leave...the money binds her there. I know I am going to have sever the communication but I don't know how to without it hurting so bad.

You do know how. You just don't want to. Again like any relationship, you feel guilty in some way if you were to walk away.

In a way, you feel you owe her. Why?

You are she are now two different people. This is also a lesson in "You can't save them all." We can try hard, but if the person refuses to see what you are trying to help them with, you must walk away.
