Default Past Life
Hi this is more of a comment then anything lol

I think I must have been a shopkeeper in a past life or several past lives because I've been wanting to own my shop for like 8 years now and I keep bugging my husband to let me open a metaphysical shop lol.. he's not buying my selling method! lol

Probably but logically, most of them fail. I worked for one and she and I talked a lot. The overhead is astronomical, location is important, as well as many other factors. While it's a great idea, do plenty of research before you "dive" in. xo

yea any new business and a lot of old businesses fail within the first year. I did read that new age stores are becoming very popular as more people are looking into spiritual development and such. Who knows maybe someday I do tons of research lol

thanks

I have always wanted to open a new age store/bookstore with a Tea stand but the area I live in is so rigid in Christianity, it would never make it. We used to have a wonderful little shop here and the community went up in arms calling it devil worship, that she was forced to close her doors before they hung her at the stake lol....do we still live in the 1600's?

Hi Jenn, this is something I'd love to do, but at the moment it's just a dream for sometime in the future, or something from the past that I once did.

But, what I am contemplating now and can only suggest it to you is to make or buy in your stock with your own individual/personal packaging and get yourself a stand at a local market or craft fair.

If that isn't your thing, photograph or make samples to put in a catalogue with prices of your stock (scrapbook style etc) and hand it round the family friends or work makes. If so, let them know you take commissions... With a deposit.

You can have the experience without all the property and rates overheads.

You're very welcome Jenn,

Best of luck with it. With the weather being like it is, it might be the ideal time to sit cosy at home and start making your lists.

Just open the regular boring old bookstore with the kids and teens section etc... and have the metaphysical section inside! Librarian!
