The first time I met my guide, I wasn't even aware that he was my guide, not until some years later when I consulted a friend of mine.
This dream is still quite fresh in my mind, as if I dreamed it just last night. It started in a capsised ship that ended up upside down. I had a little brother and sister that I was trying to protect (I'm an only child), and we were looking for the way out. We found a room with furniture scattered along the ground, and a huge gaping hole in the ceiling (floor?). So I piled the furniture to create a ladder leading to the hole. My little brother went first, followed by my little sister, then me. As I climbed through the hole, I emerged into a creepy, foggy cemetary with an eerie, unreal feeling. The grass was greyed, trees were black and dying, and the fog was a thick, odd green. I noticed that my little sister was tied to a large stone coffin, beside an older man, also tied to a stone coffin. As I tried to save her, I turned around to see an extremely large horse covered in flames, with black skin (furless). It reared, and a wall of flame made its way toward me. As I braced myself for the pain, the old man held up his hand and stopped the wall of flame with a ball of light that immediately extinguished it. My guide was the old man, who's name was later revealed to me as Donnan, a.k.a. The Hermit. He's an odd one, always teaching me in riddles, but he has to be the nicest guide, and is constantly sending me things and helping me out, from extremely complicated situations to finding lost items. |

I did once I opened up and meditated more. He told me his name when I did a special meditation with some crystals that I own. I also played some Wardruna (a band that made songs based on what they think the runes would sound like).
It brought me to a meditation where I was first running through a forest, and eventually came to a cliff. I dove off into a lake below, and entered a tunnel that brought me to an underwater cave with glowing crystals, and a dragon was waiting there for me. The dragon is my animal totem, which I had discovered when I took an online class for animal totems once. But anyways, my guide eventually showed up and gave me some positive affirmations. That's when I asked him his name, and Donnan is what I got. For the longest time, I've only known him as The Hermit, because he fit the profile. Not so much the physical appearance, but the way that he teaches me. He doesn't tell me the answer directly, but gives me clues, shows me the inner wisdom so that I may discover it myself. |

So wonderful to hear how you met your guide.
I give spirit guide readings and I love to help others meet their guides through meditation. I find meeting your guides usually goes one of two ways the majority of times. Either you see what they look like but no name for a while or a name and no face for awhile. I know it was 3 months of looking at hair and a body and no face , just a name when I first met one of my main 2 guides. That was many years ago. I love to hear more and more people connecting with their spirit guides. |
