Default any spiritual experiences with weed?
i smoked weed yesterday for the first time and it seemed as if my intuitive abilities had grown. i was able to sense empathic energies from afar as well as near and i was much more open...who else has had such experiences from marijuana? what do you guys think?

My bf could concentrate better after smoking it as well. He didn't ever want to quit. I got upset about it and well, being a witch, I did a spell for him to see his addiction. About 4 months later he was pulled over and arrested with it in the car. Changed his whole life and his record. He will NEVER touch it again.

I also agree that you should not use it to reach enlightenment. It will only hinder your real progress.

This subject comes up alot it seems. If you are interested there is at least one other thread that I am aware of that has already been started about this subject but I will say.......I have never smoked it and don't really care to.

You have a natural ability to connect...it takes patience....but well worth it

yeah of course. it should only be done in moderation, if at all... but i acutely felt human emotion and i had a vision from my dream come true while i was focusing on the energy. i dont think you can exclude it completely as a means of opening up; some psychedelics can be used to open your mind...so why not marijuana?

just food for thought :P

hi activetopics

I'm interested in what you have to say, because its always been a big 'no no' for me - and yet, I also wonder 'why not'....
this is what I've come up with so far, and its the same, as far as i can tell, with all drugs/stimulants...

The other day, I was drinking coffee - and I activated my chakra system - in a new attempt to discover what it was doing to me on an energetic level - and wow - my heart began to beat over the top - so increased stimulation - and my root chakra started to glow red hot - and then, my crown started spiralling....
and what I got from it was this - in the 'old' days - when the witch doctor or shaman, or 'helper' gave out little 'highs' every now and then - on special occassions or on initiations - it was with a 'kick start' in mind - to help you become aware of what was behind your every day mind - I understand it as this - exactly -
however, these days, we just 'do it' - and see what happens... and we lose touch with the incredible power we have at our disposal. because of easy access - and if money is no objection, why not just 'stay' high....

'use' of drugs for recreational purposes, or for spiritual purposes (more than once or twice a lifetime), for 'lazy and undisciplined' seekers is a high risk area of losing yourself in the shadows of life and not finding your real path.

drugs stop you seeing what is really there - if I was you - after this experience - I would write down everything that happened, and use it as a positive door for initiation into the next level - and leave it at that.

If you wish to continue use- its always your choice. I do no recommend it - and as i was writing - about the experience - a small insect flew into my mouth and made me 'vomit' - (this has never happened to me before) - i take it as a more than a sign - I take it as a warning.

love to you

Speaking of the old ways why don't you try a vision quest. Pick up the book Vision Quest....Native American Magical Healing by Wolf Moondance. I haven't finished it yet but it talks about simply taking enough water and essentials and sitting in a circle while others are watching out for you but keeping a great distance as not to interrupt what is happening to you. They don't use drugs but simply fasting in a way. Allowing you to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

It also says you can do this at home but to make sure you are not disturbed. Interesting book and can't wait to finish it.

Take my advice please, I offer it to you from first hand experience. I started smoking weed because I became impatient with the rate at which my psychic gift was growing.

I started smoking weed, and it nearly killed me.

Psychics in particular should not smoke weed unless your life depends on Patheya's "kick start." If you try it more then a few times, it could destroy you. It's dangerous stuff.

I agree with Patheya that drugs should be avoided, and that people who use them are usually "lazy and undisciplined seekers," no offense.

I've seen countless spiritually minded individuals funnel down the drain because of the stuff, all the while thinking that they're becomming "stronger".

You lose your nerve, you embarass yourself and others with your inability to control your abilities. Then there's the men in black, which may or may not even exist, and all the paranoia associated with peering into the dark-side.

Now I depend on God for my abilities. I feel that I am stronger now then I ever was in my entire life, and I pray to God, and give Him thanks many times each day for the blessings He has given me. If it were not for God, I have no doubt that I would be dead.

Cleanse your mind of that stuff, and ask God to guide you.

I used to do it when I was teen, and to be honest, my short term memory is shot. It's been 20 years, ask me a question on the spot, I probebly won't remember it, give me a few hours or days and I'll be able to answer. The second problem with pot is that you loose control of the information you recieve. You could be getting information on the person you are reading and picking up something else from somewhere else, and then you have an inaccurate reading. You forget to ground or protect yourself, because your not hinking about this stuff, and having the ability to ground yourself while your high, forget about it, the point of smoking it is to make you high, feel like your flying, you wouldn't even want to be on solid ground. This is my personal opion. It sounds experimental, however, everything comes with a price, hon. Question is are you ready to pay it? I also feeling some impatience on your part as well as peer pressure. Maybe trying to impress a girl? This is kinda funny, but I just posted on your last one about which girl and the "play" and "Joy" card's came up.... HMMM. I kinda felt it off of girl #1. Tthis turned out to be a pretty good challange question too, lol. Anyways, Take these advices to heart.
Best of luck,
Angel

I'm posting this for anyone interested in these issues - not just for you activetopics... we must have come across as a bunch of old nervous hens..

This is from Caroline Myss - Entering the Castle - and pertinent advice for all of us -
'among the many problems of this approach (taking stimulants for mystical experiences) is the fact that this ritual's entire paradigm of the sacred has no authentic sacred meaning for most nonnative msiitors. [...] You can't force your way into mystical consciousness- period.'

The last line is the point I wanted to make.

So many of us feel like we're not going fast enough... that we 'should' be getting closer to 'god' or improving our 'talents' faster... we deserve it, right? I mean, we've thrown ourself into a 'weird' way of living... put ourselves up for ridicule, we think we are doing our best, so where is our reward??

We're egotisical....
Just do your thing... love with no reward in mind, practice with no reward in mind - 'you can't force your way into mystical consciousness' - let it be said...

love to you all - and to me!

I've been a member of this forum for a while now, but have never really felt the need to add to or start a thread, but this particular one has caught my eye.
I was recently contacted by a guy that is a member of another forum that I regularly use. He smokes weed and also has some older drug issues, which whilst he has never mentioned this aspect of his life, his forum entries are pretty out of this world and it didn't take too much working out. To be fair, he has always remained in a calm relaxed almost horizontal manner, and his forum entries are extremely entertaining and actually very deep. Anyway, that is all an aside to my point.. He contacted me because he was having bad nightmares which I felt weren't nightmares at all. I felt that he had picked up some unwanted spirit company and his taking of drugs had escalated the problem. At 42yrs old, he was even too afraid to walk out into his garden at night, because he sensed bad things outside.
Thankfully, it didn't take a lot for me to help him and he has not had one single bad dream since and now goes outside without any problem. He also states that his hous eis now a lot calmer. I worked on his problem without him knowing and once he was able to see and feel the change, he has also come to realize that the drugs that he is taking are not helping either himself or the lives of his friends and family.

My advice would be to stay away from any form of drug taking, and just work with others to help move your spiritual side into the foreground.
