That you both loved and hated. I go to this one that's a royalty fansite and alot of people are so mean about Prince William's girlfriend, Kate, and the criticism gets so bad, they are just downright abusive about her and refuse to say they are jealous, I'm thee only one who will admit it for obvious reasons
It's a great site, but that one issue is so bad that I've seen people who like Kate there who rarely show up or they get banned. But anyway, I got into a major fight with one of the members over that and she hurtfully attacked me and another member said or implied people redicule me behind my back for giving personal information. Yes, I talk about my personal life there but at least I haven't posted a picture of myself, given my exact town or home address out or anything like that. Just stuff going on in my life. And as far as the abuse toward Kate (Middleton), I've honestly have said not-so-nice stuff about her based on some dreams and vibes I've gotten but I've never said or continued to saif awful stuff about her, without giving a second thought. These girls complain about this almost 26-year-old woman who has a university degree that she just parties and vacations (maybe not thinking it could've been part of her job at Jigsaw). They complain that she's quit a lot of jobs, perhaps she's trying to find her niche, in case it really doesn't work out with William. I'll admit, I don't find Kate 100% atrractive or sexy but she's not ugly or plain, she is pretty. She may not be manipulating the press, perhaps she doesn't like to be followed. These girls are from ages 16-50 and even the married women, the Prince Harry lovers, hate her. In fact, the girl I got into a fight with was a big Prince Harry fan. Sorry if this is out of line for this site, but I need to rant, with the evil comments, I'm surprised some death threats haven't been made on the site toward her. They say the mods and admins keep it from getting out of hand, or allow everyone to have an opinion but I beg to differ. |

Unfortunatly I think stuff like that comes with the fansite territory. There are going to be people who are die hard fans and won't like any criticism and no one will be good for the person/ group they are the fan of. The internet just gives the annonymity to let some people be nasty.
The good thing about it is that you can weigh the pros and cons and leave the site if the cons outweigh the pros |

I might do that, it just depends. Yes, I've had experience with fansites all my life. On this site they do talk about what type of girl they want for each British prince but William is the one that seems to get more threads about it. They say they would be happy if he found someone else, but chances are they willl find fault in the next girl even if she was me, LOL.

I have never joined fansites. Perhaps because I can't find myself a fan of things long
That said, there are definitely forums that I LOVE and hate. Currently, this is one of the 2 forums I visit that's all. The other one is a private forum so it's quite quiet..to the point. I actually cut down on some forums that I loved and hated at the same time. I just found as OoMaboO suggested, I took the pros and cons and found the cons outweighted the pros so I haven't left it but I don't visit it much..I can go back and post whenever I want but I'm not "actively" reading threads etc..There's quite a few forums where I do the same. The bigger a forum gets, the harder it gets on the mods and admin and of course on regulating what's posted what's not..The bigger it is..the more different kinds of people and one effect of forums is that they seem to slowly and gradually be able to change your own thoughts if you spend too much on it. It can be a good thing or a bad thing... Love, Mystic |

lol I don't think there would be much bashing on forums like that considering that both of those are about fictional characters lol and there's not much anyone can say about that except ohh I wanna be a wizard TOOO - but they don't exist.... oh well I'm over it. Time to go bash a real royal prince because he's happy about something.

I belong to two forums, one is for a band and the other is an actor. The band one pretty much moderates itself, the other one can get rather heated at times and it is all usually about the actors girlfriend. So I think it just goes with the territory.
My personal feeling is if you call yourself a fan of a person then you should just be happy that they are happy but unfortunately it does not seem to work like that. I think that it is because a lot of these very possesive fans are unhappy in their own lives so they build so much into the fandom and live through that. Just try not to respond, as someone has already said the internet gives people the power to say things that they would not in real life. |
