I keep getting a strange tapping in my ear drum. I have no idea what causes it and I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this and could it be my guides trying to get my attention?

though I haven't had such an experience, i do know guides can use many and varied ways to get attention, and it could be them....
But I would advice you to get your ears checked. If the doctors fail at diagnozing anything then it may very well be your guides, or even another spirit.

I just got that last night and was reminded of a thread about it. I think they described it as fluttering. I'll see if I can find it.
