Hi there

I just had to come online to share the experience my son went through last night.

My mum has crossed over almost two years now....but last night my son missed her terribly. He went into his room and started crying...hysterical sobs that got me crying while sitting in the lounge!

anyway, I let him be....afterwards he came and related this to me.

He said while he was crying he was getting very angry and upset at my mum for leaving him..(they had an extremely close bond) and he started talking to her....and every question he asked or comment he made was replied through the lyrics of a song that was playing on the radio at the time!!! He was so amazed! He said when he asked her the first question and she answered through the song...he thought it was a coincidence....but as he asked more questions, the replies came more apt and readily from the lyrics of the song....
and he said he had to smile afterwards....because he just knew mum was with him right there in the room and that she chose his favourite pastime (music) to communicate with him!

He felt so much lighter afterwards and came to sit with me and we spoke about her and bonded like we have not been able to for quite a while and we both felt that she was sitting there with us smiling....

It really was such an amazing experience for him and I really hope that he will treasure this for years to come! To get validation himself that she is right there with him all the time.....that is just priceless!


The song was Mama Afrika performed by Akon... and the one that stuck out for me was this. He said after he realised that it was her speaking to him and his anger melted away, he asked her how she was doing and how is the place where she is now.....and this part of the song played:

what a lovely validation for you and your son that your mom is still beside you,my dad always put a certain song into my head when he's around, it took me a long time to realise it but he kept on till i got it, bless him. I'm sure your son will find comfort in the messages from your mom x x x
