Two things happened today that were interesting and probably have a logical explanation but I've not found any yet.
First: My husband has a rapier that is on the top of a bookshelf in our bedroom. I have to climb on a chair to reach the top of this. So anyway, he came home from work and asked what the rapier was doing on the bed. (Major safety issue there!) I had no idea how it'd gotten there, and I'm pretty sure no kids had been in the bedroom since they were outside most of the day. They may have taken it down, but I tell you...I must've been out of it because I didn't hear them climbing around. lol Then later this evening, kids were outside and the channel on the TV changed. Hubby asked me why I changed it, and I hadn't. I'd assumed he changed it. When I looked the remote was laying about a foot from where I was sitting in the floor. Oh, one more thing! I woke up this morning with an absolutely horrible feeling. I couldn't place it, but it just felt like something wasn't right. Then my husband came home from work and told me he'd had a horrible feeling all day and he thought it might be related to his job, but he couldn't say for sure. It was just a bad feeling he couldn't place or shake. |

A rapier is like a dagger. Usually used with a longer sword to parry with. Hope that helps. Hubby has a matching sword/rapier that eventually will have a display case on the wall.
And...I came back here to check this thread because I just went to put some laundry away and the rapier is on the bed AGAIN. My kids are at the pool with my neighbor, so I'm even more sure that they aren't climbing up there. I'm actually starting to be cautiously excited about this because I have been asking for a sign from my aunt that she's really with me. It may not be, but then again...this could very well be my sign. With all the clutter in my bedroom (packing up stuff we don't need) I would probably not even notice anything less subtle being moved. LOL. I think the bad feeling may have to do with my SIL, though no idea why my husband would feel bad, too. He really dislikes her. But I talked to my mom last night and she said my Sister in law is having some blood pressure issues after the birth of her daughter. She got to come home from the hospital, but they're doing daily checks at her doctor's office. So maybe that's all the bad feeling was, and as long as the doctor keeps on top of it, I'm sure it'll be fine. |

Yes, definitely something strange. And don't worry: The rapier is not sharp at all. It's created for display purposes only, and hasn't been sharpened. Tip and edges are all dulled. It's kept high to keep the kids from messing with it and damaging it, but I worry more about their safety with my steak knives than the rapier.
