I went to a party at a friend's house last week. There were only about 4 people that I knew before the party, but we all had a great time.

So anyway, on the second day, we were sitting around talking and laughing just having a great time when all of the sudden I literally got hit with someone else's very negative energy. It was such a powerful thing that I immediately wanted to leave the group and regoup. I sat there for a while trying to figure out where/who this energy came from, but everyone seemed to be having a good time. After about 5 minutes, I excused myself from the group and went to try and gather myself. I was almost in tears by this point and felt like I was being smothered in this other energy.

My friend (host of the party) came by where I was sitting and asked what was wrong. So I told him what happened and he asked me if I had shields up. I have never used shields, so I didn't. I do think that I'm going to learn how to shield myself now, though. I never expected to be hit with someone else's energy so forcefully in a place where everyone's stomach muscles hurt from laughing so much. (Truly, we laughed for 3 days straight. It was great!)

So now I have something new to learn. And I think anytime I am in a large group, I'll be doing some shielding before hand. -- Even though it was no fun to experience, I am really interested in how someone else's energy can slam into you with such force! That has never happened to me before. Usually when I feel someone else's energy, it's a more subtle thing. If you didn't know what it was, you'd completely miss it. Eh. Just interesting, though I hope if anyone else's energy hits me like that again, it's a giggly and happy energy.

Things do happen for a reason, to be sure. I'm still mystified by how powerful it was, which keeps me trying to sort it through in my mind out of pure interest.
