Thanks to everyone who replied. I've been busy the last week or so and not been on here much. It has really helped and gave me an insight as to what to be wary of.

In response to Skye, it is a psychic that I would like to visit although I do also like the thought of visiting a medium too as there's a few people that have passed in my family that I would like to hear from.

I remember years ago a girl I used to work with told me that her gran had visited a local psychic and at the end of the reading said that he didn't want any money off her as she needed it more than him. Going off that I would guess he was quite an honest individual so i'm going to email her and ask the name of him and see if I can get a couple of more recommendations.

Thanks again everyone

Default Choosing a psychic
Hi guys

I've often quite liked the idea of going to see a psychic but I'm not quite sure how to go about choosing one. Do I go off recommendations or choose one that I feel would be right for me?

I was near to a shop that sells all kinds of stuff related to the psychic world etc and knew they had a sandwich board outside that is promoting a psychic. However when I looked up as I was sitting in the car, I noticed a window on a different building just a few doors down with some writing painted on. It was promoting another psychic which I've never noticed was there before so I wrote the number down but I'm not quite sure whether to go to either or neither.

I also quite fancy going to a spiritualist meeting but not sure which one to go to or whether it makes a difference

Never go off of a window advert. Research and study them. ANYONE can open a shop. I mean anyone LOL. Honestly.. in the biz.. if you have a shop (solely for yourself to do readings... it's called a gypsy shop) and we all poo poo those people. More than not, they are fakes.

Go online. Look for testimonials. ALL good and reputable psychics/mediums have a website. On that website should be at LEAST 10 testimonials. Find them on FB and see who has had a reading and how accurate it was for that person.

and finally... if you feel oddly with any ANY reader... get your money back and WALK OUT! There is no shame in it. There have been only a handful of people I couldn't read... I gave each and every one of them their money back.

The real deals want to be known for being honest and reputable over money.

If you tell me where you are, I can point you to a few. I have over 5000 friends and coworkers on Facebook and I will research them for you, or give you their websites

Great reply. I also wondered what should send a person right out the door of a "charlatan."

Trust your own intuition on this. If something feels "off" or just not right to you. Walk. More than likely you have made contact with someone who is trying to blow smoke up your bloomers...and fleece you in the process!

exactly do some research. a great way i have found some is through here. they gave free readings to begin with and then I just knew they were real..

I also found one at a spiritual church. she picked me out of the croud after about the third time i went and gave me a brief reading and she was accurate and so I sent my boyfriends mum to her for christmas one year.

I would never just go online and try to find one myself. not saying they are frauds but you just don't know whats what so it's better getting referalls.

pagan medium is awesome btw.

Also look out for the generic terminilogy.....

Your at a crossraods ( no shoot thats why im here looking for answers)

Your a helpful person
Your kind
Your grandparents are deceaced --( as we get older no obviously most wont be around)

One time i put my hand on my stomach during a reading , the first thing she said was ... you have an issue with your stomach ... um no i am getting bored of you.

A good psychic, will be specific, with the character of you you are good at writing , art ect.

watch what you say, you should try and give yes and no answers and no more.
Always be honest, some of us dont like hurting thier feelings if they are wrong so we say yes anyway............even the best psychic can be thrown off on a tangent if you answer with a lie......Its better to tell them they are incorrect, they will then get back onto the energy and transfer the correct information.

But also there will be things that you dont know that they do so its a balancing thing

Make sure you understand what type of work the psychic is planning to use. No psychic alone can tune into the spirit world so if you are wanting to hear from someone passed make sure a 'psychic' has mediumistic ability otherwise you may feel badly disappointed.

It's wise to go off peoples reccomendations but make sure you trust these people also. It's much better if you know the people promoting a psychic but this may not always be as easy, therefore, either do your own research or trust your own intuition and go off that.

Spiritualist meetings can offer an insight in what to expect and they may even have a select few who work privately, but again be careful of your choice as sadly not all who are as trusting as they claim to be.
