a couple years back i was laying down in the middle of a park on the grass just watching the sky on a normal peaceful sunny day. as i drifted off into a very relaxed state, i began to see a very strange phenomenon. as i peered towards the sky, i began to notice hundres of little tiny itsy bitsy lights swirling around, moving in all directions, almost impossible to track their movement. i could only describe their movement as tiny little fairies, darting around, never stopping.
obviously i don't think they are fairies, but to be honest i really can't explain what it is, from that point on i can see them everytime i look at the sky. the odd thing is i can't mimic the effect in any other condition, i tried looking at different colored objects, pictures of skys, just about anything you can imagine and i can never see them. i have been trying to catch the effect in any way possible hoping to narrow it down to something thats only occuring in my eyes, but so far the sky is the only thing that has been able to reproduce the effect time and time again. imagine for a moment that i am gazing at the sky, and just below the sky is a building for example. if i slowly move my focus from the sky to the building, they dissapear. if i watch the sky and monitor the movement of the lights just above the horizon of the top of the building, they dissapear when they move "over/under" the image of the building. another thing to note is that i can see them anytime during the day(not during the night, at least i dont think i have tried). anyways, i took another step and got onto a bus. i let my eyes drift as i watched the sky while moving down the road on this bus. what i noticed is that the lights move "with" my perception. meaning that they dont drag or move as if i am passing by them on the road, if there was a noticeable drag or drift to make them appear as if i was passing by them, then obviously the distance of the lights from myself would be quite small, probably a couple of feet. however this wasnt the case. this leaves me with two possibilities, one of which is that its some odd phenomenon occuring within my eyes themself, or the distance of the lights are so far away that my movement on the bus made no difference to their position in the sky. i have had several people try and see these lights but so far i havnt had anyone do it yet. please have a go and tell me if you can see them yourself, or if anyone knows what it is let me know, i am quite curious. jeremy |
