I think that loved ones would have our best intentions in mind. Since they too are spiritual beings, they would advise us in a way that would allow us to be open to those things that would help us grow. Armed with knowledge and experience that we may not have, they would try to help us with the lessons we need to learn in this world and the next The message and method may be different from a spirit guide, but I think the goal is the same for both. Some of us will only listen/hear messages that come from a loved one but I don't believe any would conflict with those of our guides. Keep in mind, our guides may also be loved ones from another life but in our present one, we don't recognize it. Many of the significant people in our present life, were also significant in other lives. Either way, I think our guides know us as well, if not better than our loved ones do since they can see us on a deeper level than others. We all keep parts of ourselves hidden from those around us (and even sometimes ourselves). I believe our guides are not shielded in anyway and they have the ability to see us a whole. It would be difficult to guide us if this knowledge was absent.

I can only speak from personal experince, for me the afterlife would and will be the same as my dream world. They are one and the same. When I'm, out of body and merged with my over soul/higher self. My viewpoint is expanded, I see things not from my earthly view, but from the lessons attached to each soul. I have on many occasions judged a situation to be one thing, but with a full expanded perspective can see why things are as they are, and what the lessons are behind each.

If your loved one re merges with their over soul then they two will see whats taking place with this advantage. I think most will how ever be forwarded on to the classrooms, of the afterlife, in-order to perfect and strengthen their resolve for there next incarnation. This teaching system is there so the soul can move forward, each soul must complete the assigned tasks, they agreed to learn before entering the system.

I will just add that how I believe is...

Guides are kinda like a "job" They have been appointed because of their knowledge to guide us in our lives. (remember we have no less than 2)

But... our relatives can be appointed to do this as well! Grandparents from this life can pass and guide you just as your guide that may have been from 3 lifetimes ago with you.

Guides already know what we are supposed to be here for. What we wanted to learn, they are working hard to send us the right signals to keep us on that path toward our personal goals

its a really good question. on the other side of the veil, so to speak, yes, it is similar to here. you may have smarter friends here or there, you may have more elevated aquaintances...

if you have an elevated guru as a guide, you will get better spiritual guidance (and your life here may be miserable because the guide is not concerned with the physical...) or if you have a sweet grandma as a guide, you may lead a chocolate chip cookie life but not make much spiritual progress...

in the long run, it doesnt really matter. you will get both at some point. but we are more likely to look at the short run... like why the f dont they give me lotto numbers!!! lol!
